Natti -> True, it's not the best place, but isn't Rendering basically referencing, except you just add color and replace the old character with your own? I also think rendering shouldn't be considered "art theft", just as long as you don't claim the image as yours, and state that you're just referencing.

Rendering, at it's very core, is none more than tracing and can be considered art theft. Yes, everyone needs to start somewhere, but rendering is not the best place.

Simb(a) isn't being treated any different. It's not like everyone's calling them "a horrible artist", they're all just stating their thoughts on the image that was picked for the Selection. I'm not saying that they should stop making these types of images, Brown, I'm just suggesting that maybe they should work more on them, and branch off from just "borders" and "lightsabers"

Natti --> Actually, I've taken years of rendering myself, but I'm not just talking about rendering itself. Rendering CAN improve your drawing skills, because you get the basic idea of how the animator drew the image. Personally, I think that you SHOULDN'T rely on rendering as a source of referencing, but it can be used. And referencing off photos is what I'd suggest, but everyone needs to start somewhere, and I think rendering is a good place. Also, I do appreciate the fact that this person has devoted the time to Balto related art, but what everyone is so upset about is the fact that their images seem to have been conjured up within 5 minutes; without any effort. And that one of their images is the Selection of the Week. So I can see why everyone is, how you say, complaining, when in fact, they're just voicing their opinions. Also, my comment was more of a suggestion, not a complaint ;3

Huskelana, I can tell you from experience that rendering does NOT help you improve your drawing skills. The only way to work on that is to DRAW pictures for yourself. REFERENCING a screenshot (or even better, a photo) can help, but tracing doesn't. At all.

Even if they "aren't that good" or "don't show much effort", I for one highly respect at least that this gallery only contains Balto-related graphics. After all, that IS what the image section was made for--not the rendering-and-lineart hoo-ha it's filled with now. Are the graphics great? Not necessarily, but like Brown wolf said, SIMB(A) can improve. Improvement is a process that takes time.

Seeing as all these images are in fact Source-related (and therefore have more place here than a majority of "renders") and do not break the rules, I think the complaining should stop. If you have a CRITIQUE or SUGGESTION, then please, post it! But if all you want is to complain...I don't think this is the place. This gallery breaks no rules and is wholly Balto-related.

Simba will improve. He or she just needs time, practice and encouragement.

On the topic of RENDERing (sorry, I've just seen a lot of people say Randering, so...) Rendering does in fact help you more than just messing with effects on pixlr or whatever. Rendering improves your drawing skills, as well as other aspects that could be used productively one day. I do agree, not much effort has been put in, and we can all see it through the "lightsabers" and "borders". If you do want more recognition, try being a little more creative?

Purple lightsabers? I never would tought of that too. Its really unrealastic. By the way, there is no effort puted here.

Effects like those ought to be used more sparingly, and far better, Simba. Not trying to pick a fight here, but I think it is worth saying. You should talk to some of the fan artists and fan image makers before just throwing this stuff out there.

Nice image gallery, you may want to go beyond putting characters into frames, maybe work on graphics, I think you'd be good at that. If you look on the Balto forum, there are a few graphic tutorials there, they're more creative, but the work you've done so far is good. You've got potential here.

Laika- Please work on making your images more creative too, I'd like to see you go out of your comfort zone and try making something new or different. Try a variety of different techniques! =)

I do not say yo`re images are bad. They, are normal. But, I say you should do something more then just put Balto characters in frames. Well, you could rander them or better just touch fan arts if you can draw.
