Look how you have grown, it’s good to see you too, if you haven’t forgotten already, here is your brother Kodi,” Jenna told Aleu, “hey Aleu, I missed you too, I kept thinking that I’d see you again, and look who it is right in front of me,” Kodi said with a little chuckle. “So, Aleu, who is this? I didn’t see him before you left.” Balto asked anxiously, “oh, mom, dad, Kodi, this is Moon Shadow, and he is my mate, our pups are back at the camp with the clan, we ha-” Aleu was explaining when Balto interrupted, “you have a mate AND pups!! Now tell me more,” Balto said shaking his head slowly, “ok, as I was saying, we have three pups, two girls and one boy, the boy’s name is Zak, the two girls are Zana and Para. Zak is whole black like a shadow, Zana is brown and black under, Para, well she is whole white, very unusual for our clan.” Aleu said looking at Moon Shadow. “Yes, she is a very rare color for our clan, some of the elders say that they have never seen a wolf that was whole white. I was very afraid of what would happen to her because of her difference, but so far she has been doing fine.” Moon Shadow said looking from Balto to Kodi to Jenna. “well, she’s not the only one who is different in this family,” Balto said looking at Aleu, “what do you mean?” Kodi and Moon Shadow said at the same time, “what I mean is that, me, Aleu, and Kodi are not whole husky, we are part husky, part wolf, my mother was a wolf and my father was a husky, I can remember what my mother looked like, and her name, her name is Ainu, she was whole white, but my father, well, I’ve never really seen my father.” Balto said looking at his paws, tears making his eyes water. “I’m so sorry, Aleu told me about her and you being part wolf, but never about your parents,” Moon Shadow said looking from Aleu to Balto. “dad, how come you never told me about this? How could you tell Aleu but not me!? Mom, did you know about this?” Kodi asked Jenna, his neck fur started rising a little, Jenna shook her head, “yes Kodi, I knew, we just never wanted to tell you.” Jenna said, her voice crackling. “I never intended to fall in love with your father, but it happened, and now I’m glad I did, there was no one else in the town that was as nice and brave as Balto,” Jenna said looking at Balto with hearty eyes, “heh, yeah, I always thought you were going to go with someone else,” Balto said not looking Jenna in the eyes. “Wow, you guys never told us any of this, how come you are now? I mean after all this time, and now you tell us, it’s just weird.” Aleu said looking at Kodi, who was looking at his parents. “Yeah I agree with Aleu, I mean it makes sense of what she is saying.” Kodi said finally looking at Aleu. “I agree, but why don’t we just bring them to the clan? And let Zak, Zana, and Para finally meet them.” Moon Shadow said to Aleu, “that’s a great idea, how long are you guys staying, do you know?” Aleu asked, with a frown, I could tell that she wanted us to stay till the very end, but I knew I couldn’t, I knew that Jenna would someday want to go back to her humans, but Kodi, he would want to go back also, to be with Dusty and the rest of the mail team. But me, I don’t really care where I am, as long as I am with my family. “Hey Balto, c’mon let’s go!” Jenna said jolting Balto from his thoughts.
