It's 2 years after the whole town was saved by the hero we all know as Balto. His enemy Steele hasn't been seen for years... until now. The malamute's sudden appearance has the whole town riled up. All look to the wolfdog for guidance. With his worst rival in town, though, threatening to end him, will Balto have the courage to step up? Or will he die trying?

Balto's third litter seem to be getting along just fine. Going for walks everyday with each other, some mushing with sledders, others just talking whenever, but all that comes to a halt when a very dark influence gets to Sam, the usually kind, unwilling to do anything savage wolfdog. Now, with threats on the table, he'll be driven to do the unthinkable: Kill his own family.
