Using a previous fanfic

Question :

LordSteampunk

Hello. Several years ago I joined BaltoSource using the name "muk&luk". However there was a time when I was no longer here on this site and either my muk&luk account closed down or I had forgotten my password. Either way I made a new account (LordSteampunk). But my question is this. I am wanting to write another fanfic for my new profile but I'm thinking it will bear several similarities to a previous one I wrote. Is there any rule against that or should I simply referance my old profile so people can see it. (Or so they don't complain that I copied someone else's work)

Thanks for your help!
