Logically the content of the gif is more important than the movie overall. So as long as the gif itself is decent, I think Jordan's right.

Really depends on what is on the gif/image, not in the whole movie.

I guess the member is referring to movies made for audiences older than 16 years. I'd say it's okay to have a gif of such a movie on your profile, as long as the content of the gif isn't against the rules in any way.

Anyways, I assume you mean putting several animated gif files on your profile presentation. They are allowed, but I wouldn't go overboard, as they can slow down the loading time for people who have a slow internet connection or computer.
