I do, however, have no choice but to agree with you. My beloved Baltosource(I started out an BS, but felt forced to abandon her and flee to SpiritSource for half a dozen reasons) is beyond even the hope of rescue, and it's a tragedy in the puristest of senses. The movie is phenomanal, and deserves much more respect than what the FAN site is offering it, and those who try eventually get choked out. If I wasn't so hopeful for the Sources, and didn't have friends here, I would leave, and search out TRUE fan sites. The biggest inconvinence, however, is that fan sites for most of the movies represented here don't exist, so you are traped between a rock and a hard place. And it stinks.
That's why I promote that someone who actually cares about the site do something. My dream to recovery is that a sister site be made, only for all the TRUE fans, but that has no chance of happening. Until we all are either are forced to leave or reluctantly give up the fight(like the multitude of a True Fans have) it will be a slow death, unless we join forces. I already know of a few other "purists" on the sites(those who are True Fans and care about the site) and am constantly trying to rally more. Even if we can't change the site, we should join forced and determine to keep our corners of this gold still polished and magnificent. Again I say: ALL PURSTITS UNIT!

Zodon: However unfortunate your words were, they were very well put. The quality of the site has been shamefully compromised, that is evident, in exchange for more members. And I agree with your judgements on the mods. I've known for a very long time that there has been a ridiculously large amount of confusion between those in charge, a lacking of responsibilities, or the will to do anything about the site's current state, in a few others. The generation that is spamming the site with useless and down right ugly (mind my French) trash is one that does not know how to react if they don't get their way, thus my statement, if there is any hope in returning the sites to what they were once or have the potential to be, it's gonna take some leaders who are leveled headed and have back bones, and a great amount of tough love.

Mighty: Don't worry, personally think that Zodon can hold his own, and I doubt that I fight will break out.

Skulblanka: Yes, we all understand that's this was a joke, but those of us with the complaints have been itching for chance to express them, and find this a suitable place. We haven't hurt or porpusfully offended anybody, we are only expressing our concern for an issue that-we feel- has gotten way out of hand. And I support Zodon and his knowledge of the site. It's a shame that others who have been here even more than twice as long as him don't know or either don't care half as much as he does.

People, this was just an April Fool's joke. I say we accept that and leave it at that. It was funny, now let's move on. (And crown Mighty queen; she is epic)

Lady_Aniu -- in nearly nine years that this site has existed, it's professionalism and dedication to fans has actually DEclined. The selection of staff members is often done haphazardly, and with an eye towards those who will not offend the tender sensibilities of the majority (who often engage in offensive and irritating behavior) OR will not actually enforce the rules consistently, fairly and impartially; the webmaster knuckles under to trolls/"crackers" at the very slightest provocation, and then hires either them or those whom they demand as staff members ( ); the webmaster has increasingly distanced himself from the site and its oversight (and decries the criticism he receives from members as them "not understanding all the work he has to go through, and all [he's] put into it"); the webmaster has increasingly allowed ever more frustrating things on here in an effort, as you have said, to draw in more people and keep them here, regardless of whether or not they are actually fans of any of the cartoons covered by the site (examples: the train wreck that is sparkle animals; a barrage of incomplete and often ridiculous characters with bios/descriptions which read, only, "will finish later" or something to that effect...and we KNOW they never WILL be finished; etc.); the website has been INCREASINGLY glitchy aaaaand there have been increasingly contradictory rules and protocols in place that are often misidentified as "glitches". Shall I go on?

Will it ever change for the better? Are you kidding me? I think even the most hopeful among us has long since realized that that ship has sailed...and sunk like a rock.

I agree, like usual, with Animal, and with Mighty. I actually didn't originally join the site with the intentions with keep my characters related to Balto, like most newbies are doing, so I can understand where they are coming from, but they need to understand that this is a fan site, meant for fan characters. And if Steet (with all due respect) thinks that taking actions against this abuse will drive away new members, I disagree, because those who actually have talent and who are actually fans of the represented movies will be much more likely to join if this site is professional and fan based. I believe that things started down hill when limits weren't put on characters. In my opinion, they should be numbered (if necessary), and the option of either "sparkle dogs" or "NOT related to Balto" should not exist. (By "sparkle dog" I mean those with crazy horns, visible bones, and neon colors, not the -like say- Unicorns or Pegasi, or other mythology based animals, which I consider to be more realistic than most characters these days.) I don't think much can be done to save the Sources without a lot of tough love, however, so my wish is that they were a sister site to the Sources, meant only for true fans and those who want to treat the fandoms with the respect they deserve. That's my dream, anyway, and unless Steet changes his mind, it's bound not to happen. UNIT ALL PURISTS!

then i would considere it right for the mods to ask someone NOT WARN or deactivate a character for labbeling it in "realistic" when its a sparkledog that would be the soluction to that

Animal: I can believe it, they only come for the characters. If that's the case, then I think there is an error in the site webranking. Something is messed up somewhere.

The character makers need to give the fans their fansite back, we were here first.

I love how this went from a joke to seriousness. But as I said, I would be all for this.

What I don't understand is some members complain that they would never come back here again and whatnot. My question is, why do you need Balto Source, or any other source, for characters that aren't even related?

I use the filters, but members put that the character is realistic and it still shows up... -.-
(I don't mind sparkle characters on art sites like DA, but they just don't have a place on fan sites like here.)

well if you dislike sparkledogs i'd recommend you to just use teh filters that's what they were made for, i honestly odn't have any problems with sparkledogs, and tehy don¡t necesarily need to be unrelated, i honestly enjoy a lot writting fanfics about infernal angels since one of the anthagonists is balto and boris her adoptive father,

I agree with Draco, Lady_Aniu, and Brown Wolf. (Personally I wasn't happy when "sparkle" characters were allowed...again...) Even though this was an April Fool's joke something should seriously be done about the hundreds of sparkle and unrelated characters...

Even still, I'll continue to work towards using the sources in the way that they are meant for as FAN sites.

Didn't fool me, but... I still think that a Source like this would be helpful in reality.

April Fool's prank or not, I agree with what Draco and many of the others have said--throwing together some sort of OC Source into the mix might not be such a bad idea. XD Perhaps that way, we could purge the animation sites of all the characters not related to the movie/series and still have somewhere for everyone to make their load of OCs. XD

Dang it, almost got me there XD. Good one though. Although a site for all the non fandom related characters would be kind of nice.
