I say this is gonna be better than B2 because it brings back WAY more from B1 than B2 tried to do. They have dog sledding, and more characters involved, as well as humans. I like a movie or story with alot of characters, but not too much. Also B2 had NOTHING to with Balto himself(as in what the real Balto did) They kinda threw things off track, but B2 was an okay movie. I say this will be really good. In reading we're gonna read the real Balto story!^^(Just thought I'd add that)

Now I loved Balto 1 and Balto 2, but I have to say, this looks like it will be a great movie! I'm buying the DVD when it comes out! I've been waiting for 7 months!!! Alright, you never know, Kodi could be better than Aleu!!

Aie! Sorry for posting twice in a row, but I forgot one thing. Just to confirm, I'm pretty sure that Mel, if that is indeed his name, has nothing to do with the Scottish Terrier. Hmm, interestingly enough, looking at him, I sort of imagine what I think his voice should be like, and the voice I'm hearing is John Mahoney as Mr. Whitmore in Disney's Atlantis. Strange, I don't normally get such a strong impression of what I think characters should sound like. Of course, I doubt this will have any connection to what he'll ACTUALLY sound like, but it's just a random stroke of inspiration of how I would cast the character. Changing the subject again, the moose naturally made me think of Brother Bear, too. ^.^ And then there's Kodi, whose name I often mis-type as Koda, and that bear-shaped mountain on the cover of the video. I love finding these little connections and coincidences. ^.^

Hey, I just noticed something, nothing big, but I thought it was interesting. The first snippet of animation we see, of Balto walking forward against an orange sky, is repeated about eight or nine seconds in, just after we see Boris with his "girlfriend." It's flipped around and zoomed out, or rather, the first second of the trailer has been flipped and zoomed in, as well as slowed down a bit, I think. I wonder why they felt the need to use the same few frames twice within ten seconds...it's just one of those little miniscule choices that can only be understood by those who made them, I guess. ;) Er, this was a fairly pointless comment, but I thought it was rather interesting. (I'm quite a boring person... ;P)

It doesn't matter how strong she is if she isn't there, and there's no sign of her in the scenes shot outside of Nome. However, since she presumably doesn't have a litter of puppies this time, we can hope her characters is given a bit more to do than be motherly. She sounded like Mrs Brady on valium in B2. Trouble is, all of Jodi Benson's other female animated characters have been wimpy compared with Jenna (Little Mermaid, Lady). I don't have great hopes, because if she was going to get the character right, you'd think she'd have done it first time. It looks like the 'spunky' female character this time is going to be Boris's girlfriend - though to be honest in the trailer she sounds more 'nagging'.

Well Jenna is a strong female character I think and Jenna has an eye for adventure too. Remember she wanted to go on both journeys with Balto but he didn't let her.

I never really expected to see Aleu in B3. I just think it's a shame you can't have your cake and eat it too. B2 wasn't as good a film as B1, but I still like Aleu, so I wouldn't mind seeing another movie with Aleu in it. As it is, it doesn't look like there's going to be a strong female canine character in B3 at all. Not outside of Nome anyway.

I don't know why everyone believed we would see Aleu again, it has always seemed obvious to me that she was made for the scenario of WQ. Besides now that she left so far away, I don't know how Balto would see her again. As for the sidekicks, they could have wanted to make something like TLK 1 1/2 in which we don't really see the lions but only the sidekicks. I'm glad they didn't do that to Balto 3.

Well they could make the team run into her and the pack somehow. Don't know how though....

Yeah, whereas I like the direction of this movie, I'm also sad that itlooks like Aleu was a one-shot. It's almost like, "Ok, what was that all about?" If you're going to give us a new main character, don't take them away again (especially when you're keeping those #*^$^ polar bears).

Of course it would be hard to fit Aleu into the sort of scenario I'd like to see for Balto. A spin-off movie would have been nice. But a spin-off from a DTV sequel? Such a thing I never heard of (Boris voice)

I have to agree Zindane at least Dog Sledding came back. Also we don't know for sure because the pups could have a small part in the movie also I'm sad because Aleu will probably not be in there. So good news: Jenna has a bigger part and at least one of the pups are returning. Also some new characters. Bad news: No more Aleu....

Yeah. It looks good but I still wish Steele and Star, Nikki, and Kaltag were in it.

Arg. Never mind. I saw the whole thing. I just did something wrong. I like it! It looks better because it has sled dogs again, cept they still only bring back the main characters and only one of Jenna's pups.

What do you mean by "whole"? Yes, it works perfectly for me, and it's one minute length ;) As for the zone problem, you can use softwares on your pc to make them works. I don't know for the regular DVD players, though. I think it's possible to flash them to make them multizone.

I think most are, but I haven't really looked into it. I think the three that I've had were all region 1. They were older ones though. My mom's newer one might be multi-zone, but I'm not sure.

Just curious - are most DVD players in the USA only region 1? I think nearly all DVD players in Australia now are multi-zone.

Needless to say, I am impressed.
First off, I would like to congradulate, and thank, Steetboris for the awesome job of finding the trailer. Well done, Steet, you are the best.
Second, from the looks of the trailer I can already tell this movie is going to be much better than Wolf Quest. Although I do agree that they should have left Muk and Luk behind, at least the animation is much better and the storyline is about sledding. I have a feeling that the Trio is not going to be in it, but one can always hope.
Anyways, I look forward to when it will come out in the US (or on a DVD that is encoded for this region, at least), I can't wait.

I pretty much agree with you about the drawings vs animation equation, though it's a little hard to tell. Things just look best in the trailer when they're moving. OTOH there wasn't all that very much action in Wolf Quest. If you haven't seen NIMH 2, just don't. It's amazingly awful. It was like they went from the pinnacle of hand-drawn animation, to bad 60's TV cartoons.

I don't think they would make a movie called Balto without Balto lol! And he still has the biggest part, even bigger than in WQ. When you speak about Jeremy in Nimh, it is just at the end that he find a girlfriend, and I think it's the case in many other animated films (Bartok in Anastasia?) I've not seen Nimh 2 though, and will probably not from all I've heard about it...A Balto 4 is not in the plans, and it's possible that they will not make one. After all, Universal only made 2 DTV sequels for An american tail/Fievel...As for Jenna, I've seen the trailer again, and I think she is much better drawn than in WQ. Well, everyone has his own opinion on this...from now, I've heard people who say the animation is way better than WQ, and others who say it's the same or even worse. Well, to me, the drawings look like WQ, but the animation itself is better...

Ok Jenna goes from normal size, to Anerwxic in #2 to FAT in #3 from what I see in the trailer. LOL. and I think it will be alot better then #2, but still...the movies rock.

...come to think of it though, giving Boris a girlfriend and responsibilities other than Balto could be a way to write themselves out of that corner.

Sorry, the comic sidekick bird gets girlfriend thing just reminds me of Jeremy in Secret of NIMH. And there was a REALLY ANNOYING bird gets girlfriend thing in 'The Animals of Farthing Wood'.
Not that Boris is solely a comic sidekick.

I hope you don't tale offence - but I kind of feel that they've written themselves into a corner with him. As long as he's still in the stories, Balto sort of has to be stuck on the boat, otherwise Boris's paternal role disappears. Good luck to him. I just don't want Balto 4 to be about him and his girlfriend have goslings, and one of whom wanting to fly back to Siberia or something.

That was great. It looks like it will be a lot better than WQ. Although I wish Boris M&L and the female goose weren't in it, or at least that they have smaller roles. You're right about the animation, it looks better. Only thing is Balto's ears seem to change color, maybe it's just the recording. Anyways awesome job on digging that up. :D Thanks for posting my art too.

Sorry if you can't jump lines, I'm not sure how I can program it. But you can still use the "br" HTML flag if you want to do so.
In fact, I am kinda pleased with Boris' girlfriend, I was precisely expecting a more annoying and "stereotypical" (if this word exists...) character...and I think she looks more serious than Boris. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I feel by seeing this trailer. The same for Muk & Luk, who seem more useful and less annoying to me in this one than in WQ. The moose character seems interesting, much like the Brother Bear ones, I'm wondering if he's a bad guy? As for Kodi, well...at first I thought he wasn't in the trailer, because I confused him with Jenna...He definately hasn't a major part in it, since we see him only 1 or 2 times, and it's better this way I think. If he had been the center of the story, it would have been another WQ. And that's a shame that Jenna is left to the side again, but I think she is better drawn than in WQ, yet still not at the drawing quality of the first, and I think the same for all the characters.
