For everyone who accepted to help with revamping articles, here are the instructions!

- Before checking articles for a site, post a message here to let us know which site you'll cover!

- Make sure you don't check the same article twice. (check from oldest articles to newest)

- Correct the spelling mistakes.

- If there are broken links, try to find suitable replacements if possible. Same thing for the pictures. For example, if a book cover picture is missing, do a search on Google to find it and replace the picture.
NB : Broken links and broken pictures are not displayed for visitors, only to moderators.

- To add or replace pictures, you don't have to manually send them to the Animation Source server. Just indicate the URL of the picture in the text editor "picture properties". When submitting the changes, the picture should automatically get retrieved and hosted on Animation Source.

- Try to make sure each article has at least ONE picture, so that it has a thumbnail. (The thumbnail is automatically generated with the first picture in the article)

- If an article seems really uninteresting / bad quality, and it's not popular (no comments) then you may deactivate it.

- If an article is beyond repair (too many broken links and pictures you can't find replacements for) and as such, doesn't make sense anymore, you may deactivate it.

- Very old articles (older than 2006) on Balto Source & The Lion King Source used a different images send system, so they lost all their pictures. I could recover them, but the link between the article and its pictures has been lost. However, here are all these lost pictures so that you may be able to fix these articles :

- Repeat the same thing for each site.

Now it's fixed, and I've also fixed the send articles process which was broken due to the changes.

I forgot to check the mod panel... I'll fix it.

And now "revamped articles" can't be managed in moderator panel. Just letting you know here.

I didn't remember site builders could change that. As I've said, I think there isn't enough content submitted to justify a "daily" update but I guess it makes sense on some sites. I'll put the choice back and will just change it for BS.

But the news were selected to daily or weekly updates on sites like Balto Source or Lion King Source. It was up to builders to choose if site updated daily, weekly or monthly, but now it automaticaly changed to "per month" and it can be changed back :/ I have no idea why you decided to do that.

Is this something that could be done for the selection of the week? There isn't enough material (if there is, it isn't related to the film of concern) to work with on a weekly bases.

Yes, now it displays it "per month" on every site. There wasn't enough new content to display it per day or week on Balto Source so it wasn't showing up at all.

I'll probably change it at some point though, in order to display more recent stuff.

Did you do something with the part where it displays new material at the bottom of the screen? It's got a ton of stuff from the past month there, but the newest stuff looks to be missing.

Do you mean this happened after these changes?
I've just noticed they were empty so I added a few. There was a bug I've fixed, it didn't take the film into account (for example the must see list was the same for Balto 1, 2 and 3) so maybe this has something to do with that.

Sure! I brought myself this confusion by using the same system (must see and selection of the week) for two different things, but I really meant it to work like this from the start, with the selection of the week being made with the top-ranked creations from the must see lists.

The selection of the week has always been just that. The selection of the week. I removed them because they've already had their turn, and there was nothing else to change them to. I'm not disagreeing with you, just explaining myself.

understanable. im happy still to do some of the spirit source ones as i know some are broken (including one of my own)

Talking about the selection of the week, I've noticed there are no "must see" articles. I think the "must see" selection should stay, as a listing of the best articles on the site, and you should only change the first one from time to time.

I'm interested in helping with the articles. At least on Balto Source. I've come across many articles that are broken, or just flat out bad when I update the selection of the week. (I've taken a break from it because there is a lack of new material)

For now it's automatically generated with the first image in the article. I could add an option to manually change it later.

Thanks for the offer, for now I'd prefer to offer that opportunity to members who aren't already busy with site building or moderation. Though we'll probably need a few people considering the number of articles...
