I'm not sure what you were getting at with your second question. I assume you mean that they're browsing all over the sites. I'm going to have to say no, the only place I see them spam is on the forums and here on Balto Source.

Most "bots" are innocent; also called "spiders", they're designed to crawl the internet looking for content...either for commercial purposes or for browsers to seek, categorize and rank web content. To wit:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_crawler
But for every innocent program or process, there is a malicious one created--by hackers and geeks with no freaking lives and, unfortunately, with an excess of programming knowledge--with the same general parameters, but solely to cause misery. "Spambots" are malicious in design and intent. They're only purpose is to find security leaks in websites, e-mail systems, etc. in order to post spam, pop-up ads, and even more malicious material. There is nothing good about them. And while they are usually easily guarded against, and there are plenty of programs out there designed to protect websites, it would seem steet doesn't care much about updating the very inadequate security of a site he still claims as his, even though he doesn't seem to give it very much thought or concern anymore.
They're annoying enough on their own...but what's even more annoying is when noob members of this site (or even well-meaning and generally more level-headed young newbies) think that they can reply to a spambot and wag a remonstrative finger at it, and it will somehow see it, respond and learn from the experience.
