A lot of people here like making characters who are pups of Aleu and Niju, Kodi and Dusty etc. Those pairings are NOT canon. It is possible but it must be explained somehow how the two became mates/had pups (either with an explanation in the bio or link to a fanfiction). Non explained pairing kids will be seen as AU and will not be allowed.
You can ship whoever you want, but following the "DO NOT change the events that happened in an explicit way in the movies" as written in the rules, instead of writing "he's the son of Jenna and Kaltag" like it was something obvious, just include a short explanation like "Jenna broke up with Balto and became mates with Kaltag". That's perfectly enough.
The only official Balto pairings are Balto and Jenna, Boris and Stella and Ralph and Dusty (yes, it's canon and confirmed. Check the interviews with Balto 3 director).
I'd also like to remind you that character rules are more important than character tags. even if there is "not Balto related" tag, it is outdated and unrelated characters are not allowed anymore.

Coming back to this, good god people, just stop. This is just
ridiculous. Troll explained herself and some of you are still dragging
it on (not naming names but you know who you are). Complaining isn't
going to change the rules, so either stop or if you really don't like
it, there are other sites you can post your characters on. |

It's not JUST this specifically. There's a lot of things on this site
that go against a lot of freedoms I believe in. And how am I "making
up" what I truly feel about artistic freedom? It's supposed to be
FANON. Where the FANS do with the story whatever they want. Next thing
you know we won't even be allowed to create fan babies because it
"implies the characters had sex" or something like that. |

why are you treating an animated movie site like a "stereotypical
american" i will never know but here acceptable: "dusty and nuk had a puppy together due to dusty getting lost in the woods on a sled run and decided to live out in the wild." unacceptable: "dusty and nuk had a puppy together." no one here's asking for a 10 page school report we're asking for a sentence or two on offset pairings its Not that hard???? |

I don't get why people are whining so hard about the character section
in the first place but eh. I guess some people take drawings of fake
Balto characters seriously. Also, this statement Troll has made isn't even confusing. All shes asking is to explain your reasoning behind your coupling. I think it's good that she has posted this because this also goes for people who think putting "was Balto's friend" makes the character 'Balto related'. |
