Have you noticed this new "notifications" icon under the banner? => 
Have you ever missed some messages that were posted on one of your drawing? Now you'll get notified when someone posts on your gallery, and you'll be able to reply immediately!
You'll also get notified when drawings you've submitted have been accepted, or when you get a private message... (see the full list below)
In addition to these, if you use either Google Chrome or Firefox, you'll get that kind of alert :
These notifications are displayed even if you're not currently browsing the site! All you need to do is to leave a tab open with Animation Source. That way, you can do anything else on your computer and you'll get an alert whenever something happens.
It may also work on your smartphone or tablet if you use Chrome!
Of course, if you'd prefer not be notified, you can change this by editing your profile on the site.
The list of all the possible notifications currently is :
- Receiving a private message,
- Creation (fanart, fanfic, character...) being accepted or rejected,
- Message posted on your gallery,
- Message posted as a reply to your comment,
- Message posted on a forum topic that you watch
Most likely there will be bugs, so let me know if you find any.
Also, if you've got ideas on interesting things you'd like to get notified about, let me know!

I know I didn't activate it (I don't have the ability to), nor did I
pass out the link beforehand. While we're on the subject of permissions, I seem to be able to see reports when they come in. |

Well that's weird, I have no trace of this image being activated in
the site logs... The only reason I can see this happening is if
someone who hasn't got the proper permissions activated it. (which is
weird) In that case the creation could be activated but no
notification would be sent. Though I don't know if such situation can
exist. Maybe there's something wrong with the permissions, I've made a change so that only members with the proper permissions can activate creations. This may help identify what caused this issue. (no log and no notification) |

The notification system does work, though it isn't exactly efficient.
While it will notify you if you have a PM, any other notification
seems to be hit and miss. Like yesterday, after a few hours of not
getting any updates about the avatar I sent to Zootopia Source, I went
to investigate. My avatar was activated, but I never received a
notification that it had been. The "new" button that appears next to
an updated section also failed to appear (which is a old glitch that I
referred to in my first post), nor was my gallery marked as updated. |

I've fixed that error message, I accidentally removed an important
function... which may also explain the missing notifications. Let's settle this for a while and see if it works OK. |

I like the notification system, but I think I'm going to leave it disabled. I personally find it to be an annoyance due to the bugs.
