Bio-
Like the rest of his siblings he was born to Starling, an Australian shepherd and Mardi Gras, a Belgian Malinois mix. Both were amazing police dogs so their pups seemed destined to follow the same path.... But then there was Maynard. Maynard, much unlike his other three siblings was unamused of the concept of going out everyday and potentially getting killed. He knew that more times then not it wasn't like that, but still, he just was opposed to the idea. His other siblings somewhat shunned him for that, and he couldn't blame them. That made him go out of his way to shun and annoy them. Eventually, as most childhood things do, the shunning was forgotten and they all just went along as if it had never taken place.
When it came time for Maynard and his siblings to be adopted, he was absolutely terrified that he might be chosen for the police team. He gave a silent sigh of relief when his brother, Montrose was taken. His other brother -unnamed as of yet- was also adopted by a police station. Maynard himself was adopted by a young couple. The first few months were great, but when the couple learned that they were expecting a child of their own they completely forgot about their pooch and engrossed themselves in parenting classes, buying baby stuff and reading books about parenting. Those actions didn't go over well with Maynard, so he simply left them one day after waiting outside by the back door for some long period of time.
Maynard just kind of drifted around until the cheif at the police station recognized him as of of Mardi Gras and Starling's pups. He was basically dragged inside the place he never wanted to be, was forcefully given a bath and then shoved inside a room that was probably a kennel. He immeadiately recognized Montrose, and quietly observed the others. Maynard eventually befriended them. Whenever a new team member came along, Maynard would just do his best to ignore them at first.
When his brother was gunned down in the line of service, Maynard was of course sympathetic but only within reason. When Montrose would moan and groan that he'd never be able to go back on duty, Maynard would just flame him out, trying to snap him back to the dog he used to be. It must've worked because as soon as Montrose's cast was taken off he tackled Maynard and the two fought it out like puppies.
Maynard's role in the Police Station is that of peace-keeper between the dogs. Things can get rough and more times then not he'll be the one to sort things out. He's also used as a search dog in missing person cases as he has an advanced sense of smell.
