Relation to Balto: Is good friends with Balto and his family and is on the same sled team as him.

Personality: Patrick would probably be an example of the best friend you could ever have. He's always willing to hear what his friends have to say and help them out with any problems they have and he's always willing to give them advice. He's not one to just turn his back on someone that needs help and he always tries to do the right thing. Even if he doesn't know someone, he'll still do his best to help that person out. Even though he likes to help his friends out, he doesn't like getting deeply involved in other people's personal problems because he feels that they should only be handled by those that are involved, but since he is such a great advice giver, he's often dragged into the situation by those involved. When that happens, he just sighs and tries to help out anyway since he's now fully involved.

He is also very open when it comes to making new friends. He doesn't care what type of animal someone is, as long as they treat him and others around them like a friend, he'll treat them all the same. But when it comes to people that like to act tough, pick on others, or act like they're "all that," he tries his best to avoid them because people like that really get on his nerves and he feels that they aren't deserving of a friendship.

Patrick is a dog that prefers to keep the peace and think logically. He prefers to use words rather than actions to defuse a situation, making sure he chooses his words carefully, and he always thinks logically and realistically instead of jumping to conclusions. But don't let his peacefulness fool you. He is actually an amazing fighter and is willing to fight anyone to protect those he loves and cares about if they're in danger.

Patrick is also highly devoted to his job as a sled dog. Ever since he saw the sled teams in Anchorage as a very young pup, he's always had a big interest in sled dogging and he always wanted to become one. Once he was old enough to start training, his owner put him in training with all the other pups. Thanks to his good listening and close observation, he picked up on the skills and techniques pretty quickly and as he got older, he became even better at it while rising through the ranks at a relatively fast pace. Today, you'd be crazy NOT to have him on your team! He is very skilled at his job and he is considered one of the best lead dogs in Nome! Many of the other dogs turn to him when they need help with their jobs and the older dogs are very impressed with how much he knows. He doesn't care where he's going, what the whether is, or how he feels, if he's called to lead a team, he'll lead it. He is considered a natural born leader.

But above everything else, the most important thing to him is without a doubt his family. He'll do anything to make sure they're healthy and safe and he makes sure to spend as much time with them as possible because he doesn't live with them. He is also very loyal to his owner. He has been living with his owner ever since he was only a few weeks old and he has given Patrick a great life and Patrick considers him as his father figure since he never met is own parents. His owner is also the primary influence behind his friendly attitude. He is basically a human version of Patrick!

When he isn't working or helping his friends out, he has many activities he likes to do in his free time. One of them is exploring. Ever since he was a pup, he always wanted to know what lay beyond his usual boundaries so once he was able to go out on his own, he never hesitated to explore new areas. He also enjoys playing in the snow and going swimming, especially when his family and friends are with him.

Since he spends most of his time outside, he definitely considers himself an outdoor dog and therefore hates being kept inside for long periods of time. He also hates going out in blizzards because it makes his job much more difficult and dangerous and if he doesn't have a scent to pick up, then he's basically running blind.

History: Patrick was born to a Malamute father and a Husky mother, but once he and his siblings were born, their parent's owners had to put them up for adoption because they couldn't take care of them all. Patrick was only 3 weeks old when he was adopted so he has no memory of his parents or siblings at all. But it's been believed that when his owner was carrying him off after he adopted him, he looked over his shoulder at his parents and said "Bye Mommy, bye Daddy." to them. These are believed to be his first words ever!

After he was adopted, his owner moved to Anchorage. While in Anchorage, Patrick grew up seeing the sled teams come in and out of town on races or delivering supplies. Ever since he saw his first sled team, he knew that was what he wanted to do when he grew up! His owner could easily notice this (being that he was a former musher), so once Patrick was old enough to begin training, his owner decided to pick up the harnesses again and he began teaching Patrick and the other pups in town how to be a sled dog with all the other mushers and the sled dogs. Patrick made sure to listen carefully and pay close attention to what the mushers and the older dogs told him and thanks to his close observations, he picked up on it pretty quickly and he pulled his first sled when he was a year old! After that, he began to rise through the ranks quickly and he reached the rank of lead dog when he was 2 1/2 years old!

When he was 3 years old, his owner decided to move up to Nome for better opportunities in the sledding  business and for better pay. Patrick didn't want to leave Anchorage because of all the memories and friends he had from growing up there, but he knew that if he really wanted his sled dog career to take off he would have to be willing to take better opportunities. On the plus side, the move would allow him to make new friends and explore new areas, so it wasn't a total let down for him. It didn't take long for him to make new friends. A few days after he came to Nome, he met Balto one day while walking through town. Balto never saw the unfamiliar face before, so he decided to introduce himself and offered to show the newcomer around. Patrick happily agreed and he  followed Balto around as he showed him the town. On the tour, he also met many of the other dogs in town, including Balto's family, and he quickly made many new friends with all of them.

Only one week after Patrick arrived in Nome, another Diphtheria epidemic broke out and it was once again up to the sled dogs to retrieve the medicine. It had been only 3 years since the last outbreak. Balto was once again placed on the team, but many saw this as an opportunity for the new guy to prove himself so they selected Patrick to lead the team with his owner as the musher. The storm during this run was much more dangerous than the previous run, and there were several times when the team almost crashed or were killed! But thanks to Patrick's amazing leadership and help from the other dogs, the team made it back to Nome in one piece with the medicine just in time! When they got back, all the dogs were praised, but Patrick got the most recognition and was crowned as the new hero. He tried to be modest and give more credit to the other dogs, but Balto just smiled and told him, "You're the new hero Pat. You deserve it!"

A few months after the second outbreak, Patrick continued to remain very popular in Nome and many of the female dogs tried to get him to be their mates because many saw him as a perfect dog because of all his traits and his good looks. But he didn't want someone that immediately wanted to be his mate just because of what they had heard of him, he wanted someone that he had actually taken the time to know and had taken the time to get to know him. One day while he was exploring the forest near his house, he ran into a female wolf named Sun Dorm. Any other wolf would have killed or attacked him for coming onto their territory, but she was actually very nice to him. The two started talking and he decided to ask Sun if they wanted to hang out again sometime. She happily agreed.

About a month after he and Sun met, they both met a 5 month old wolf pup named Rose [(c) Vit] that was wandering through the forest all by herself after her parents had abandoned her. Now she was looking for family to call her own. Sun and Patrick felt sorry for the wolf pup and they didn't want to just let her continue living like this so they decided to adopt Rose! They asked her if they wanted to be part of their family (even though they weren't mates yet) and she happily danced with joy! They were on their way to starting a family!

After a month of adopting Rose, Patrick and Sun began to develop even closer feelings for each other because Rose saw them as her parents and they began to see each other as a couple now that they had a kid. Patrick decided to take the next step forward by asking Sun to be his mate. She happily said yes! After they became mates, they had a litter of 7 wolfdog pups. They weren't sure if they should have them live lives as dogs or as wolves since they were wolfdogs, so they decided to let them choose. After growing up and finding out what both sides had to offer, the pups chose to live in the wild because the idea of being free was more appealing to them, but Rose chose to live with him in Nome because she liked life in Nome. Patrick didn't care what decision they made as long as they were happy, which made him happy. Now, he lives in Nome with Rose and he always talks with Balto, his family, and his other friends in town and he is more than satisfied with the sledding in Nome. And when he's not working or talking with his friends, he's spending time with Sun and his pups, watching them grow up into happy wolfdogs.
