Personality: Very shy and reserved. He doesn't open up to many people, just his brother Wolfgang.

History: After Sandy's mother got sick, Argo knew she wasn't going to live from her infection and mated with another dog called Charity. He told Crickett he'd always love her and she understood. She dies and shortly afterwards, Charity had two pups, Wolfgang and Kale. Since birth, Kale and Wolfgang had been very close to each other, even being adopted into the same family who had twin boys. Kale was afraid of his human at first and only wanted to to be with his brother. Eventually though, Wolfgang began to go about town and hang out with other dogs, including their half-siblings, Carmine and Sandy. Kale however was afraid of the outside world and stayed inside the house with his boy.  But even with his master there, Kale still felt lonely without his brother and would be overly joyed to see him whenever he came home.

History (cont.):  As time went by, Wolfgang found lovers and Kale remained the quiet shy dog he'd always been. He didn't seem interested in anybody really until he had an extremely disturbing dream one night about Wolfgang and when he awoke, he came to the conclusion that he was in love with his own brother. At first, it depressed and disgusted him. He didn't know if he should tell Wolfgang, since they lived in the same house and if Wolfgang didn't accept his brother's afffection, it would have been awkward for them both. After debating this in his head fpr a while, he decided to ask his friend Dia for some advice. He was extremely surprised that she didn't shun him immediately for having such thoughts bout one's family and told him to just follow what his instincts told him to do.
 

History (cont.): So he told Wolfgang. He was embarrassed, and ashamed, but Wolfgang accepted him. Kale was overjoyed that his brother didn't care that they were family either. One night, however, they were in the boiler room when another male, Ricky, barged in on them during their little tryst and  was completely disgusted. The next morning, neearly all of Nome's canine population had known what went on between the two brothers. Kale was extremely embarrased of himself and remained indoors until Wolfgang insisted that he just forget what had happened since Ricky would never let him live it down. "Deny everything that happened and push the memories out of your mind>" Kale was heartbroken and fell back into a deep depression for many years until his owners finally made the decision to put him out of his misery.
