Distinction Between Her and Balto: Shelley is a different color, her eyes are diamond-shaped and her chin is not as scruffy; other than that, she looks almost identical to her father.

Though Shelley looks to her father as a role model, she is just as equally to close to her mother.

Friends: Gracey (Star's niece), Dawn and Silka. 
Shelley only has 3 friends, as most of the dogs of Nome reclaimed their prejudice against wolves, as the new generation began to come it.  She's perfectly happy with her friends and is greatly loved and appreciated by them, not only because they respect her father and her wolf heritage, but because they see her as the good-hearted person she is.
She's closest to Gracey, who holds a deep respect for Balto since he helped save the life of her uncle, Star.

Crush: Sky, an orange and white colored Alaskan Husky

Enemies: Blaze (Steele and Duchess's son) and Steele (Duchess ignores her more than anything else)
Though Blaze teases her more than anything else, that's all he does, keeping his dislike of her to a bare minimum.  In truth, Blaze doesn't really dislike Shelley, he's just grown up believing wolves and wolfdogs were something to disregard.  In a time of true crisis, it is more likely that Blaze would help Shelley rather than hurt her.

The true enemy that Shelley needs to beware of is Blaze's father, Steele.  Always angry at Balto and Jenna, Blaze hates Shelley not only because she's part wolf and unafraid of him, but also because she carries many of the personality traits of her parents.

Shelley is the only daughter of Balto and Jenna's 2nd litter.  She is the opposite of her older sister, Aleu, in that she looks like a dog but wants to be a wolf.

She loves her family and friends, but her favorite person in the world is her father.  She wants almost nothing more than to be like him.

Eventually, she leaves home (with the consent of her parents) to find her sister, Aleu, in hopes of joining her pack.
When she was a pup, Balto and Jenna gave her the choice of wanting to be adopted or not.  Loving the life of a stray, seeing it as more of a freedom than a burden, unlike her father, Shelley remained a stray.
