Personality: hateful, angry and harsh, doesn't hesitate to throw around his weight and strength around to get what he wants, not caring about feelings or opinions other than his own. Will kill his own pack members if they disobey or don't perform to his high expectations.

History: Was born and raised harshly, in a rough unkind environment, developing his own harsh, unkind personality. When his parents died in an attack by humans when they got fed up with the pack's murdering the town's livestock, Mat took over eagerly, establishing himself as strongest easily by killing the pack's beta wolf. He then continued his reign by taking over another neighboring pack, where he killed their alphas and beta as well, claiming one of the pack's females,  Marcellyn , as his mate without a struggle. After several failed attempts at producing offspring, finally they had a litter, though only one, Nayati, survived the winter that came after. He raised Nayati as he himself had been raised, which ultimately caused his own downfall, as he and  Marcellyn were both killed by Nayati later on to take the pack over as his own.

Relation to Balto universe: Lived in the forest surrounding Nome; Son, Nayati's pack is rivals with  Achak 's.  Achak 's mate is  Kiona ,  Balto 's daughter.
