History: Rose was the eldest child of Lily and Yukon, one of Balto and Jenna’s sons. She was named for her bright red fur, and after Jenna’s owner Rosy. Rose wanted to become a sled dog like her mother, and when she got older she got her chance when her owner, a teenage girl named Lucy, wanted to form her own dogsled team and chose Rose to be the lead dog after seeing how strong and fast she was. Rose gathered a bunch of other dogs from town who weren’t on a sled team and began to train them. Rose enjoyed being on the sled team- she was good friends with the other dogs on the team, and liked running with her owner. However, her owner was often ridiculed for starting her own team because she was seen as “just a kid” who wouldn’t know how to properly run a sled team. However, this didn’t stop Lucy, and one day she signed up her team for a benefit race happening in town. She went up against some other sled teams in town that were not championship-level, but still decent nonetheless. However, she still faced adversity due to her young age, and Rose and her teammates even got teased by other dogs for having a young and inexperienced kid as a musher. This prompted Rose to run as fast as she could and do her very best in the race, which ended up paying off when young Lucy’s team ended up winning first prize, proving everyone wrong.
