Personality: Aspen is very much a go-getter; when she puts her mind to something, she sees it through and there’s no going back. She is very serious and stern, and isn’t one to crack jokes; she starts lightening up after she starts going out with Prudhoe, however. She can be a bit bossy, and even snappy if you don’t do what she says, but she means well. However, she does like being the boss and having a sense of authority. She is very kind though, and when you get to know her she actually does have a gentle, caring side to her. She often beats herself up if she doesn’t succeed at something.

Likes: Being a sled dog, leading, running, exercise, swimming, winning, the Northern Lights

Dislikes: Being looked down on, losing, slackers

History: Aspen was born to Shasta and Mindy, Nikki’s daughter. From a young age, she showed promising signs of being a sled dog like her father Shasta, who was on one of Nome’s champion racing teams. Eventually, her dream became to be a successful sled dog like her father, and she worked tirelessly to become one. Aspen trained every day and often got help from not only her father but her uncle Shiloh who was on the mail team, and her grandfather Nikki. Aspen eventually won a spot on the mail team when she was a little over a year old, and much to her delight, she won the position of lead dog. However, this caused some conflict between her and Prudhoe, Kodi’s son who was sour about the fact that he wouldn’t be able to follow in his father’s paw steps as lead dog. Needless to say, Prudhoe and Aspen didn’t get along very well, and they even got into some physical scuffs and had to be separated by their musher.

    However, that all changed one day when the mail team got lost in a blizzard, and Aspen and Prudhoe had to work together to lead the team to safety. Aspen used her strong leadership skills while Prudhoe used his wolf senses to help the team return to Nome in one piece, and it was on this fateful day that Prudhoe realized the importance of being on a team rather than being the leader. He thus came to terms with Aspen’s role as lead, and the two formed a truce. They then became friends after seeing they had more in common than they realized, and eventually fell in love and became mates, having three puppies together.
