Personality: Kanu is in a way a lot like his son Gareth: he's brave and daring, and always ready to defend those who need it. However he is still much more calm and reasonable, and always approaches things with careful consideration instead of rushing straight into action. Kanu is extremely laid back and doesn't believe in too many rules, and while his mate is the more strict parent, he wants to be the "cool dad" who tends to allow his son to go and do pretty much as he pleases, and, when Nita isn't watching, even give him some fighting lessons. 

Likes: His family, sunsets, napping in a shade, playing with his son, eating.

Dislikes: Humans, bears, too many rules, being strict, arguments.

Story: Kanu was the second youngest in Niju and Olathe's litter of four. As a pup he was very competitive and reckless, always trying to get his parent's attention and getting into mischief. But as he grew older, he calmed down a lot and became much more reasonable and would think before acting. Kanu proved to be a skilled hunter like his mother, so he was eventually assigned to provide the family with all of their food, as his parents were starting to slow down due to aging. He took this job with great pride, but one day, as he was on a hunt and about to take down a caribou, a flash of brown fur flew past him and before he even realized it, the caribou was dead. Kanu approached the female wolf who had taken it down and angrily claimed that it was his kill, but she greeted him with a smile and said she was more than happy to share it with him. Kanu was of course confused at first, but finally thanked her and took a bunch of the meat and brought it back to his family. The next day, he found he couldn't stop thinking about this mysterious female, whose name he didn't even know, but it wasn't long until faith brought them to meet each other again. The female introduced herself as Nita, and the two started talking and spending time together. Eventually, Kanu and Nita fell in love and became mates, and had a son together, who they named Gareth. They were such a happy little family... until one tragic day, when Kanu and Nita left little Gareth with Niju and Olathe to get a little time to themselves, and ran into a hunter. He shot Nita, immidietally killing her, and a shocked and heart broken Kanu had no choice but to flee, also taking a hit to his hind leg. He managed to somehow drag himself home, and tell his parents what had happened, but unfortunately, he too died from his injuries later that night, leaving his young son to the care of Niju and Olathe.
