Name: Palo
Age: Two years older than Aleu and Kodi
Breed: Greenland Dog
Parents: Nodin and Tanana
Siblings: Kirby
Mate: TBA
Pups: TBA
Personality: Palo always knew he was the favorite child, but never used it to bring Kirby or anyone else down. If anything, he used his advantages to stick up for his overshadowed younger brother because he was bothered by the way their father treated Kirby. He has a good sense of justice and isn’t afraid to stand up for what’s right, but also doesn’t like ruffling any feathers. He is a lot more coolheaded and easygoing than his father, but does take his career as a racing dog seriously and trains hard to become the best sled dog he can be. He is very courteous and is especially charming with the ladies, but hasn’t found anyone he’s interested in just yet.
Likes: Running, racing, the snow, the Northern Lights, the beach, exercising, sausage links, playing tug
Dislikes: seeing his father scold Kirby, bullies, cheaters, liars, loudmouths
History: Palo was the first child of two Greenland Dogs, Nodin and Tanana. He had a younger brother named Kirby, and they were both trained to be racing dogs like their father. Palo proved to be a very talented and promising sled dog; he was not only very fast and agile but also was a dedicated worker. Because of this, he quickly became his father’s favorite. Palo liked the attention he got from his father, but it soon bothered him when he realized how often Nodin would tear apart Kirby, who wasn’t as fast or hardworking as a sled dog. Palo felt awful for his younger brother, and would comfort him whenever he felt down about the way their father treated him. However, Palo also didn’t want to ruffle any feathers with Nodin, because he was afraid he wouldn’t be praised as much.
However, at around nine months old, Palo joined the same racing team his father was on. Palo was extremely proud of this achievement, and to be “running with the big dogs,” as he put it. However, being on the team gave him a new sense of courage which allowed him to finally muster up the courage to stand up to his father. Nodin was a bit aggravated that Palo was defying him and standing up for Kirby, but he secretly did respect Palo sticking to his guns, even if he wouldn’t admit it. Eventually, Kirby got a job on Nome’s mail team, and Palo promised his brother that no matter what their father thought, he would always be proud of Kirby no matter what.
Relation to Balto: Kirby’s brother; is one of the dogs racing against Steele in the beginning of the first movie
