Name: Nodin
Age: A year older than Balto
Breed: Greenland Dog
Parents: TBA
Siblings: TBA
Mate: Tanana
Personality: Nodin is very gruff, and although he knows when to have fun, he can be quite a grouch. His jokes are mostly dry and mean-spirited, and a lot of people don’t really understand his humor. He does have a sweet side, which really only comes out when he’s with Tanana, but when she leaves Nome, his sweet moments are few and far between. He can get a bit violent when irked by others, and sometimes his musher has to separate him from the other dogs. He is very dedicated though, and stops at nothing until he achieves his goals. He loves humans and has a soft spot for children.
Likes: Running, relaxing, the boiler room, the gold dredge, sleeping, getting belly rubs, winning
Dislikes: Being ashamed, bullies, cheaters, dishonesty
History: Nodin was born to two racing Greenland Dogs and was trained to be a racer like them. When he was two, he was shipped off to Nome to be on one of their top racing teams. He took his duties very seriously and always helped lead his team to victory. Along the way, he met a dog in town named Tanana; the two of them fell in love and eventually had two puppies, Palo and Kirby. However, their happiness did not last long, for Tanana’s owner moved to Anchorage a few months after the pups were born, and Nodin never saw his mate again or found out what became of her. He was now left to raise his two sons on his own, and so he worked to make them strong racing dogs like him. Palo was very promising; he was very quick and agile, and eventually joined the same team as his father at only nine months old. Palo was Nodin’s pride and joy, and Nodin never missed an opportunity to brag about his eldest son. Kirby, on the other hand, was another story. Kirby was a bit slow, and although he liked dogsledding, he didn’t really take it that seriously. He became a second-rate mail dog, much to his father’s chagrin, and so Nodin grew ashamed of Kirby and never missed an opportunity to scold him. It also didn’t help that Kirby looked a lot like his mother, so whenever Nodin saw Kirby, he saw Tanana who had suddenly disappeared from his life. Kirby tried not to let his father’s hurtful words get to him, and he did somewhat prove himself when he became lead dog of the mail team, but this approval disappeared once Kodi became the team’s new lead dog. The reason why Kirby has a bit of a cocky side is due to his father- he thinks that if he hypes himself up, he will make up for the lack of praise he got from his father growing up.
Relation to Balto: Kirby’s father; appeared on the team racing against Steele in the beginning of the first movie
