Personality: Taku is very family-oriented and cares very much for those around him, even if they are complete strangers. He’s hard working and principled, but also knows when to have fun. Ahnah is the apple of his eye, and from the day she became an orphan, Taku vowed to protect her and give his life for her if needed. He is very nurturing towards her, but also tries to be a “cool uncle” and let Ahnah do what she pleases, which often gets them into sticky situations. Taku is very romantic and charming, and is especially courteous with the ladies. He can be very witty at times.

History: Taku and his sister Nuka were raised by two wolves living near Nome, Alaska. Growing up, Taku was very close with his sister and they considered each other best friends. Eventually, they grew up, and Nuka met a wolf named Rafe whom she fell in love with. They had a pup named Ahnah, who also grew a close bond with her uncle Taku. However, when Ahnah was only a few weeks old, tragedy struck. Nuka died of a mysterious illness, and Rafe, who was terrified over the death of his mate and the thought of raising his daughter all alone, mysteriously disappeared one night and never returned, leaving Taku to raise his niece all by himself. Taku immediately took Ahnah under his wing, and began to see her more as a daughter than a niece.

    When Ahnah was about four months old, she fell into a raging river and was set to fall down a waterfall. Taku was horrified, but in the nick of time, a dog named Poppy swept in and saved the day. Taku knew he had to return Poppy’s favor after she had saved his niece’s life, so he treated her to a fresh piece of meat which she graciously accepted. The two got to know each other better, and eventually Taku developed a crush on Poppy. He figured she would not only make the perfect mate, but also the perfect mother figure for Ahnah, who was really starting to grow up. He sensed that Poppy liked him back, but she seemed to be giving more attention to a dog in town named Caton, and Taku wasn’t sure why she was acting this way. He decided the best thing to do was to be patient with Poppy, who had recently lost her first mate to a hunter’s bullet and was still grieving. However, one day Poppy admitted to Taku that she truly did love him; she was just afraid to lose him like she did her first mate. Taku promised that while he couldn’t guarantee the future, he would always be there for Poppy no matter what. The two started dating, and eventually became mates and had puppies.
