Personality: Like his father and grandfather before him, McKinley is quite the ladies’ man and very much a heartbreaker. He has a very charming personality and has no difficulty wooing a girl; all he has to do is look their way and they come running toward him. He is quite romantic and always knows the right thing to say, but sometimes treats the girl dogs of Nome like objects and kind of just goes from one to the other. However, deep down inside, he does truly have a heart, and he also has a bit of a soft side, but doesn’t like showing it. He secretly hopes for a long-lasting mate. McKinley is also quite witty and has a good sense of humor.

History: McKinley was the second child of Ester and Porthos, Balto’s grandson. Out of all his siblings, he took the most after his father not only looks-wise, but personality-wise as well. He was always very charming and knew exactly how to get what he wanted. He was adopted by a young bachelor living in Nome, and the two would often try to woo the ladies together. Eventually, McKinley grew into a handsome young mutt and was one of the most sought-after dogs in town. He would go from girl to girl, having a different partner pretty much every night. However, one night, he went out with an American Eskimo Dog named Shea, who was secretly hoping to win McKinley over not just for a fun night but as a mate. However, McKinley quickly lost interest in Shea and left her heartbroken. However, McKinley’s sister Bethel, who was good friends with Shea, sternly told McKinley how devastated Shea was, and McKinley finally realized the consequences of his actions. He wanted to apologize to Shea, but never mustered up the courage to, and after about a week, Shea left town entirely as she and her family moved to White Mountain. Feeling incomplete, McKinley became much more reserved, and often wondered if he would every find a girl to truly love and play the long game with.
