Roxie is a friendly and likeable dog, and a good and loving mother who doens't believe in being too strict, and attempts to be more of a "cool mom".
Likes: Kirby, her sons, being alone (sometimes), her job, snow, the northern lights.
Dislikes: Big crowds, fire, bears, bullying, anyone threatening her family.
--------------------------------------
Story: Roxie was born in a big litter, with 7 older siblings to a german shepherd father and a husky mother in White Mountain. Being the youngest in such a big litter, she soon got used to being by herself and being ignored by her parents and siblings. She didn't mind it too much though, and always managed to find ways to have fun on her own. She was closest with her father, who sometimes took her with him to work. He was a guard dog at a local factory, and Roxie always thought his job seemed really cool and interesting. She was adopted by a forest ranger, and moved with him to a log cabin, although Roxie never really cared about living in the woods, as she preferred city life more. However, as she grew, she got adjusted to her living enviroment, and even learned to like it, somehow. She did appreciate the fresh and clean forest air, and liked going on patrols with her owner. One day, there was a big snow storm, and a mail team from Nome had gotten stuck in it. Once the storm calmed down, Roxi and her owner went looking for the team, and soon found them, fortunately no one was injured but their sled had been broken. Roxie's owner took them to his cabin, gave them food and shelter for the night and helped fix the sled so they could be on their way again the next morning. One of the sled dogs, Kirby, clearly took an interest to Roxie, and she too thought he was kind of funny and charming, but since the team left the next morning, she didn't think she'd see him again, and kind of just forgot about him. However, one tragic day, their cabin caught on fire, and while Roxie tried to save her owner, it was too late, and she managed to get out just in time before the ceiling came down, crushing Roxie's owner underneath it. Tears ran down on her face, and knowing she had no other choice, she fled into the woods. For two days she wandered in the wilderness, alone and devastated, growing tired and weak from hunger, but just then, faith brought her to Nome. She desperately looked for food, and snug into the butcher's shop's backyard. Just then, Kirby spotted her, and she was rather surprised but also extremely relieved to see him, because she knew he would help her, and so he did. Kirby took her to the boiler room to warm up, and brought her some of his left overs and even a blanket, to keep her warm, and she told him everything that had happened, breaking into tears. She buried her face to his shoulder, and he comforted her that night, keeping her company. For the following days, Roxie stayed in the boiler room to regain her strenght, and Kirby visited her every day to check on her, they became very close and Roxie found herself developing feelings for the sled dog. Once she had completely recovered, Roxie was made the guard dog of the butcher's shop, and she was very proud of doing the same job as her father. Eventually, she and Kirby became mates, and had three sons.
Relation to Balto: Kirby's mate.
