Personality: Gabrielle is very friendly and cheerful like her mother, and like her father is a good listener and always puts others before herself. She can be a bit air-headed and often doesn’t think things through, and can be a bit of a blabbermouth. She’s a people-pleaser and often beats herself up when she thinks she’s embarrassed herself in front of someone. However, she’s very kind and gold-hearted, and is a loyal friend. She doesn’t like to get violent, and prefers to use her words when standing up to someone. She has quite a fanciful imagination.

History: Gabrielle was the fourth child of Aslak and Felicie, the granddaughter of the famous Balto. She never got to meet her famous great-grandfather, but heard lots of stories about him from her mother, and she grew to admire Balto. Additionally, she loved hearing stories from her father about what his life was like in Finland. Hearing these stories from her parents helped expand her imagination and she was curious about what the world was like outside of Nome.

    When she was adopted at eight weeks, Gabrielle was taken into a loving home with a kind family. However, as much as she loved her humans, she didn’t like being cooped up in the house too often and liked going out on the streets and looking for some adventure. One day, she decided to be very brave and daring and went out into the wilderness to explore. However, her plan backfired when she got caught in a blizzard and was lost in the forest. Terrified, she scurried into a cave and figured all she could do was wait the storm out. She was cold ad hungry, and wasn’t sure how long she would make it. However, her mother’s sled team happened to be passing through as they were trying to get back to Nome, and they just so happened to choose the same cave to stay in as they waited for the storm to pass through. Gabrielle was relieved to see her mother, and also got quite a scolding from her, and so Gabrielle learned her lesson. 

    However, when summer came around, her humans took a trip to Kansas to see some relatives, and they brought Gabrielle along with them. Gabrielle loved being able to run freely in the prairie fields and to be able to interact with the animals that lived on the farms. They went back every summer, and it was something Gabrielle looked forward to every year. However, in her fourth summer, a tornado threatened the lives of her and her family. Her humans were terrified and believed there was no way out, but Gabrielle used her wolfdog senses to uncover a hiding spot. Her instincts told her to lead her family to this hiding spot, and so they took a chance and hid there, which ended up saving all of their lives. After that summer, Gabrielle was more than happy to return to Nome.
