Name: Chitina
Age: About eight years younger than Aleu and Kodi
Breed: 7/16 Siberian Husky, 1/4 Canadian Eskimo Dog, 1/4 Chinook, 1/16 Wolf
Siblings: Caro, McKinley, Bethel, and Shasta
Mate: TBA
Pups: TBA
Personality: Chitina is a sweet and kind dog who is more on the quiet side but is definitely not antisocial. She is very loyal to her loved ones and is very family-oriented. She sometimes can be a bit gullible, and often acts before thinking, especially when she is desperate for something. She’s also quite clever, and eventually becomes very street smart after becoming a stray. Like her mother, she often hides her emotions instead of expressing them, and can go into meltdowns and depressive states if she keeps her feelings bottled up for too long.
Likes: Her family, her owners, warmth, the Northern Lights, shelter, napping
Dislikes: Living on the streets, Sutton, bears, losing her loved ones
History: Chitina was the fourth pup Ester and Porthos, Balto’s grandson. At eight weeks, she was adopted by an elderly woman who lived in Nome and was looking for a companion after her husband had passed. Chitina and her human were inseparable; Chitina always made sure to bring her joy and to protect and look out for her. However, one day, the unthinkable happened - the elderly woman passed away in her sleep. Chitina was devastated to lose her beloved owner, and since the lady had no other relatives in town, Chitina was left to fend for herself.
However, since she was so used to the life of a house pet, Chitina had a hard time adjusting to the life of a stray. However, things changed when a group of stray dogs approached her, lead by a mutt named Sutton who offered to help her if she joined their group. Desperate for food and shelter, Chitina reluctantly joined the group, but eventually found herself falling for Sutton. However, she quickly found out that he was only using her for romantic gain, and one night when he acted a bit too forward with her, Chitina ran off into the woods and didn’t look back. She was more terrified than ever, now that she was all alone in the woods. Meanwhile, her family in Nome was concerned about her sudden disappearance and were desperate to find her. It took about a week before her father Porthos finally found her in the woods, cold and hungry. He brought her back to Nome, and although Chitina was glad to be reunited with her family again, she feared seeing Sutton and his gang again. She was brought in by the neighbor of Porthos’s owner, and felt at ease now that she was living so close to her father, but still feared for her safety knowing Sutton was probably still running around freely. One night, she was walking alone when suddenly Sutton cornered her. There was no way for Chitina to escape… until Porthos came to the rescue, driving Sutton away for good. For the next few weeks, Chitina was still scared to go out on her own, but eventually she went back to her normal self, and was thankful to be with her family again and have a new owner.
