Personality: Starlet is a little diva and a big snob. Everything has to be about her; she thrives off of attention. She loves being in the limelight, especially when cute boys have their eyes on her. She’s always up with the latest fads thanks to her trendy owner and makes sure everyone knows how hip she is. She detests anyone she deems “uncivilized” — strays, wolves, to name a few — and wishes she didn’t live in a little frontier town, hoping one day she’ll be able to see a grand city like New York or Chicago. She’s very sweet with her father; she has him wrapped around her paw. She’s also good at faking kindness.

History: Starlet was born to Star and Nitta, Nikki’s sister and the dark brown dog seen swooning over Steele in the beginning of Balto 1. As a puppy she was very fun-loving and playful, and loved to cause trouble with her younger brother Cosmo. But that all changed when she got adopted. She was taken in by a young flapper woman living in Nome, who represented the “New Woman” of the 1920s and followed all the latest trends of the time. She treated Starlet like a little princess, and soon enough Starlet became as spoiled as can be. She didn’t want to associate with anyone who she considered of a lower ranking than her, and only associated with other dogs who were as trendy, attractive, and popular as she was. The only popular dog she didn’t really get along with was Saba, who would often stick up for the outcasts of Nome, and Starlet just couldn’t understand why Saba would want to associate with that kind. Although Starlet was “popular,” the only ones who truly liked her were the ones in her little circle, and all the desperate males. Everyone else was aware of her shallow personality and steered clear of her. Besides her friends, the only one who was completely oblivious to Starlet’s actions was her father Star, who saw his daughter as his precious treasure and was wrapped around his daughter’s paw, afraid to ever disappoint her.
