However, as she grows up and spends more time with Doc, she becomes more patient and wise and thinks things through a little better. She is a big tomboy and prefers to catch fish and have an adventure than sit and look pretty. Her favorite thing to do is be out on the lake with her owner catching fish, or going for a swim. She loves the water and is very active. She can get quite anxious about things and sometimes lets her worries get the best of her.
Likes: Fishing, swimming, basically anything to do with the water, playing, running, exercise
Dislikes: “Girly” things, loudmouths, bears, thin ice
History: Daisy was the third pup of Yukon and Lily. She was adopted by a young, inexperienced fisherman and was trained to catch fish along the lakes outside Nome so that she could help him out. However, she wasn’t particularly great at it at first. She was very impulsive and acted before she thought, which prevented her from getting a lot of catches. She and her owner often went back into town with no fish, or very small ones at best. Daisy was frustrated, and went to the old and wise Doc for advice, since his owner was a fisherman as well. He told her she needed to aim more precisely at the fish and think before she acted. Daisy followed his advice, and eventually did become a better fisher.
However, on one spring day when the ice was melting, Daisy fell through the ice. Luckily, her owner was able to get her out, but Daisy was shaken to the core. She didn’t want to go out on the lake again for fear that the same thing would happen to her again, and she wouldn’t be as lucky the next time around. So, she often stayed back from her owner’s fishing trips. However, she came to realize that her owner wasn’t as successful without his trusty dog, and wasn’t making enough money and also didn’t have enough food on the table. Daisy knew she had to get back to the lake and help her owner again, but she was scared. She confided in her grandfather Balto (who also fell in a lake while searching for the lost team during the Serum Run), and he told her that it was okay to be scared, but the best thing to do was to face your fears. Daisy took these words to heart and the next day, she was back at the lake doing what she loved with her beloved human.
Relation to Balto: His granddaughter
