History: Gracie was the youngest of Dingo and Cady’s litter. At eight weeks she was adopted by a young woman who had just opened up a flower shop in Nome. At her shop she sold beautiful flowers from the Alaskan wilderness, and Gracie was the “mascot” of the shop. People came from all over town to by flowers, but also to visit Gracie, who sat in the store obediently and guarded her owner while she worked. However, things started to go downhill for Gracie and her human. Thanks to the Great Depression, businesses were closing, and eventually Gracie’s owner had to close up her shop as well. However, she found a solution - she could give away flowers for free, to make peoples’ days a bit brighter amidst the troubled times everyone was going through. So, she went around Nome, having Gracie carry a cart of flowers to sell to anyone who wanted. Gracie loved her new job and seeing the smiles that she brought to peoples’ faces during these difficult times.
