Muse is a Alaskan Malamute x Mutt mix

She lives in Nome, Alaska during Wings of Change and is a friend of Dusty's. 

She is two years old in human years and helps her owner out around Nome doing odd jobs such as raking up leaves in the fall, weeding neighbors gardens, helping debone fish, etc.

She was both adopted and named by her human, an older gentleman who picked her up from the humane society while traveling from California to Alaska.

Muse's human, Norm, was originally a very famous painter and activist when he was younger but became a recluse after the death of his lifetime partner several years prior. He made the move from CA to Alaska as a way to "reset" and start a new life as a widow without having to deal with the memories of the home state where he'd lived with his partner for more than 40 years.

During his move, which he did on is own in his old Jeep, he stopped to look at sites along the way and visited and old humane society where he met Muse.

She was unnamed at the time, found as a stray and afraid of humans due to living as a stray in the wilderness for most of her childhood. 
 

She very quickly warmed up to Norm, who wanted to save her as she was at the risk of being put down due to being seen as aggressive. 
 

He named her Muse as she gave him to urge to paint again. They grew close over the remaining days as Norm drove to Alaska and are now are very close.

Muse was nickname Norm has for his partner and the scarf around her neck used to belong to his partner as well.
