Name: Prudhoe
Gender: Male
Age: Around 4 years younger than Kodi
Species: 7/8 Siberian Husky, 1/8 Wolf
Siblings: Atka, Kivalina, and Willow
Mate: Aspen
Pups: Kiana, Konan, and Ronno
Appearance: Prudhoe’s fur color is a good mixture between Kodi and Dusty’s; it is light brown with a tinge of gray. His underbelly is a very light cream color. He has violet blue eyes like his mother. His facial markings are like Kodi’s, except the stripe on his muzzle is the same color as his main pelt instead of white. His front leg markings match Kodi's while his hind leg markings are like Dusty’s. He has a curly tail like Dusty. He is built like his father, but has smaller, more dog-like paws like his mother.
Personality: Prudhoe is a lot like his father and grandfather in that he is determined, steadfast, and once he puts his mind to something, he has to get it done. He idolizes his father and grandfather and wants to be lead dog just like them. He works hard, but also knows when to have fun. He’s serious and more on the introverted side, and his way of decompressing is hanging out in the boiler room and napping. Despite the fact that he is more reserved, he is likable and is known for his kindness and loyalty. However, he is very competitive, and sometimes gets a bit aggressive when he doesn’t get his way. He’s a bit irritable.
Likes: Dogsledding, napping, fireplaces, eating, wide open spaces, the forest, winning
Dislikes: Slackers, bullies, losing
History: Prudhoe was the first puppy to be born in Kodi and Dusty’s litter. Growing up, he loved to run and race with his siblings. He was always enamored by dogsledding, and would often sneak off to watch the races with his sister Willow. However, rather than be a racing dog, Prudhoe was more interested in being on the mail team like his parents. He greatly idolized his father and grandfather, and wanted to be lead dog like they were. He especially wanted to make his father proud. At eight weeks of age, he was adopted by a girl named Rachel, whose father trained sled dogs; the pieces seemed to be falling into place for Prudhoe.
As Prudhoe got older, he trained almost every day with his father on the beach, the same way Kodi did with Balto when he was younger. Eventually, Kodi and Dusty retired from the mail team, opening up a spot on the team for Prudhoe. A race was held to determine which dogs would join the team, and Prudhoe was one of the dogs who won, as well as his cousin Remi. Prudhoe was a step closer to achieving his dreams — all he had to do now was become lead dog. However, this dream comes to a halt when Nikki’s granddaughter Aspen snags the position for lead dog, leaving Prudhoe sour. He doesn’t like being second-in-command, and gives Aspen grief for it. Needless to say, the two of them didn’t really get along, and they sometimes got into little scuffs with each other.
But one day, the mail team gets lost in a blizzard, and Prudhoe and Aspen are forced to work together to help lead the team to safety. This situation helps Prudhoe to learn about the importance of losing gracefully and placing the team over his desire to be lead dog, and he finally comes to terms with not being lead dog. When the team arrives home, Prudhoe apologizes for his behavior, admitting that he just wanted to make his parents proud. But Kodi and Dusty assure him that he already makes them proud just by being himself. Prudhoe and Aspen then make amends and start to become friends, and eventually mates. They have three pups together.
Relation to Balto: Balto’s grandson; the son of Kodi and Dusty
