Name: Yukon
Nickname(s): Yuke
Gender: Male
Age: Same as Aleu and Kodi
Species: 3/4 Siberian Husky, 1/4 Wolf
Siblings: Kiska, Kodi, Aleu, Saba, Dingo
Mate: Lily
Pups: Rose, Violet, Daisy, Poppy
Appearance: Yukon has the brightest colored fur out of all his siblings. His body build is pretty much identical to Balto’s; he is very slender and athletic like his father. His facial markings are also quite similar to, but not identical to Balto’s. His front leg markings match Jenna’s while his back leg markings match Balto’s. He has large wolf-like paws. His fur is also thin and scruffy like Balto’s. His tail curls upward like Jenna’s. Unlike both of his parents, he has bright blue eyes which he inherited from two of his grandparents.
Personality: Yukon is very outgoing and happy-go-lucky. He loves bringing humor into any situation and bringing a smile to peoples’ faces. Sometimes, his jokester personality is too much of a good thing, because oftentimes he won’t know when to get serious. Besides Aleu, Yukon is the most in-touch with his wolf heritage out of all his siblings, and loves exploring in the woods outside Nome and befriending the wild animals that live there. He is fascinated by how the wolves live their life, but at the end of the day he prefers to remain home with his family. He loves to tease others, particularly Dingo, although he means well. He can be pretty lazy.
Likes: Playing, having fun, exploring, telling jokes, his wolf heritage, eating, pestering his siblings
Dislikes: Being harnessed, people who are too serious, getting in trouble, fighting
History: Yukon was the third oldest pup in Balto and Jenna’s litter. As a pup, he was a bundle of energy, and always managed to get into some sort of mischief. Although he loved playing with all his siblings, he was closest with Aleu, because they were both the most rambunctious pups in the litter. He secretly hoped he and Aleu would get adopted together, and was disappointed when this didn’t happen. However, he and Saba were adopted into the same family, so he was glad to at least have one of his siblings with him.
As he got older, his puppy-like playfulness never really went away. He remained close with Aleu, and the two would often explore the wilderness together. When he wasn’t with Aleu, he could often be seen with Saba. He and Saba had the biggest personalities out of all of Balto and Jenna’s pups, and were always scheming something. When Aleu ran off and joined the wolf pack, he became bitter towards Balto for allowing Aleu to go, and said that Balto could have made her stay. Most of all, he feared he would never see his sister and best friend again, and after spitting out some nasty words at his father, he gave Balto the cold shoulder for days. However, he soon realized that was where Aleu belonged, and where she was happiest, so he finally realized Balto’s decision was an act of love and he forgave his father.
However, his relationship with Balto continued to remain a bit strained. Yukon was always the fastest out of all his siblings, but was never interested in dogsledding, so Balto saw this as wasted potential. Yukon eventually gave in simply to please his father, but after a life-threatening accident occurred while Yukon was training, Balto realized he shouldn’t have pushed his son to do something he didn’t want to do.
One day, while exploring the forest, Yukon ran into a Samoyed named Lily who looked like she was in great distress. She was tied to a rope and looked like she hadn’t eaten for days. Yukon wanted to help, but Lily stubbornly insisted she was fine. However, Yukon didn’t budge, and Lily eventually gave in, admitting she had been abandoned by her owners and left in the woods to fend for herself. Yukon brought her to Boris’s ship (which Balto didn’t live in anymore as he was adopted by Duke), and let Lily stay there until she was adopted by a musher who recruited her onto his sled team. Lily was extremely grateful for Yukon’s selflessness and the two grew close, eventually falling in love. They had four daughters.
