Her red and cream fur is darker than that of Jenna’s, and her ears are brown like Balto’s. She has auburn eyes like her father, rather than brown like Jenna’s. Her fur is scruffier and thinner than Jenna’s, but not as scruffy as Balto’s. She has a slender build like Jenna, but is more athletic. She isn’t as strong as Kodi and Balto, but she’s swift and agile enough to pull a sled full of cargo. Her legs are thicker than Jenna’s and her paws are also slightly larger than that of her mother’s. Her leg markings match Balto’s. Her tail curls upward like Jenna’s.
Personality: Kiska is a very gentle and caring dog. She is very motherly, partly because she was the oldest sibling and often acted as a mother to her brothers and sisters. She doesn’t really care for small talk, but will do it in order to get to know someone more. She much prefers to have deep, meaningful conversations with people. She also likes having meaningful relationships with people and often disregards anyone who has a “fake bond” with her. She likes learning new things and is very inquisitive, but not in a nosy way like Saba. She is more on the quiet side, but is not antisocial.
Likes: Tungsten, running, sunsets, the northern lights, the beach, music, puppies, deep conversations
Dislikes: Nero, Seeing her loved ones upset, Balto’s initial prejudice towards Tungsten, small talk, seeing others being mistreated, when male dogs only go after her for her looks and lineage
History: Kiska was the first puppy born in Balto and Jenna’s litter. As a result of this, she was always put in charge whenever her parents weren’t around, and would look after her siblings and keep them in line, though she did enjoy having fun as well. At eight weeks old, Kiska was adopted into a family of four, consisting of girls Allie and Janie, who were nine and three respectively, and their parents. Since Allie was best friends with Emma, one of Saba and Yukon’s humans, Kiska got to see those two siblings frequently, but also remained close to her other three siblings.
As she grew older, Kiska became known for her caring and gentle demeanor. She was pretty popular amongst the dogs of Nome, but not as much as Saba, because unlike her sister, Kiska disregarded the male dogs since most of them pined over her for her looks and relation to Balto over anything else. As she reached her adult years, Kiska’s owners noticed that she was very fast, agile, and had good endurance, traits she inherited from her father. As a result, they decided to try and get her recruited to join Kodi’s mail team once the two wheel dogs on the team moved to Nenana. A race was held to see which two dogs were the fastest and could replace the ones that left, and the winners ended up being Kiska and a new dog in town named Tungsten. Kiska and Tungsten were then recruited onto the team and were instantly welcomed by Kodi, Dusty, Kirby, and Ralph. Kiska was obviously close to Kodi since they were siblings and shared an interest in dogsledding, but Kiska also because great friends with Dusty since they were the only two girls on the team. However, being the two new dogs, Kiska and Tungsten became friends, and eventually they developed feelings for each other.
Kiska wanted to go out with Tungsten, but Balto was strongly against it since Tungsten was the son of the infamous Steele. He falsely believed Tungsten was just as evil as his father had been and didn’t want Kiska falling for his tricks. But Kiska knew that Tungsten was genuinely a kind and caring dog who was nothing like his father, and thus she went against Balto’s wishes and started dating Tungsten in secret. However, Balto eventually found out, and it tarnished his image of Kiska being the “golden child” for a while, and Kiska’s relationship with her father was strained. It wasn’t until Tungsten saved Balto from a bear attack that Balto saw who he really was, and he eventually accepted Tungsten, forgave Kiska, and allowed the two to date. A little while after, Kiska and Tungsten became mates and had two litters of puppies.
