name: Thunder

history: one day Thunder's mother (a wolf) walked into Nome. she was very beautiful and was drawn to Steele. they both fell in love and had pups who were immediately sold to top mushers for training and to some kids as pets. however, two of the pups, Cinder and Thunder didn't get adopted. Steele was confused until he saw his mate crying and asked why. after receiving the answer 'no human will ever want them' he asked her how she knew this and she said she was a wolf. after losing his pride in this way, Steele threated to kill them. Thunder jumped out of the box and ran while his mother grabbed Cinder and chased after him. Steele was close behind, but Thunder managed to escape down an alley and hid behind a bunch of boxes. but he never saw his mother or his sister return.

It's obvious actually. Because it looks like a cat. And it's from
Doll Divine. Doll Divine is, in fact, a very poor way to find base line art to make a character. It's an insipid game. There are plenty of good and even just fair fan artists out in the community, including on here, who could provide much better material to work from than that game. I suggest trying that. |

I think it would help if you didn't use Doll Divine to make your
characters. Those wolf makers are limited, and the style of the
artwork doesn't necessarily reflect or represent your character well.
You could either render over a screenshot, draw the character
yourself, use a base, or find a lineart. You could even ask a friend
to draw the character for you. |

I don't mean this offensively, but why does a "wolfdog" in this
character's head shot and full body shot look much more like a cat?

As you may recall, Steele doesn't think highly of wolves and wolf
dogs, so it would be obvious to him that Thunder is a wolf. His
self-centered nature simply wouldn't allow him to be seen with a wolf,
as that would taint his image. There's also the fact that Steele is
not a stray, but a championship sledog. While it's common for dogs to
wonder around Nome, a dog like Steele would probably be kept in a
kennel yard for his protection. I understand that I'm talking about an
animated feature, but I would like to imagine that if wolves were to
enter Nome, they would be eliminated or relocated. I have nothing
against the idea of people making wolf hybrid characters, I just don't
understand how this character makes sense. I would suggest fleshing out her character a bit more. I can see Steele having a change of heart after Balto comes back with the medicine. I believe there is some good deep down in Steele's character, it's just overshadowed by some bad personality traits. Having everyone loose respect for you in a matter of seconds is a harsh punishment. |
I could go off on a tangent here ('ll leave it where it's at), but I won't. XD But like BaltoSeppala said, along with myself, there is better material out there. I don't know who to suggest on here, as I don't engage in the lineart stuff, but you can search for lineart on Deviantart if you aren't comfortable with your drawing abilities. There are also tutorials on the forums that explain how to render over screenshots.
