History: Aleera was born in a dark cave behind a waterfall. Her mother and father were the alphas of their pack, which had dwindled in numbers since a wolf-dog named Balto saved Nome. Since the humans got their medicine, more and more hunters had hunted timber wolves for their soft pelts. Aleera and her pack were only a few miles from the town of Nome, and when the pack was hunting for caribou, they had to be wary of every movement in the forest. Aleera's two sisters despised her because she would rather play in the mud than in the cave with them. Her brothers, on the other hand, loved to wrestle with her and race between the trees. Unfortunately their mother wouldn't let them go very far from the waterfall. Aleera wanted freedom from the cave. So one night, she woke up her brothers and told them she was leaving. Despite their protests, she walked to the cave entrance and bid farewell to them. Then she ran into the forest. When she reached the end of the territory, she rested under a pine tree for a while, then resumed running. She didn't stop again for the rest of the night. For a small time period, she ran in the water so that she couldn't be tracked. Then she ran into a stretch of rocky terrain and then doubled back along her own scent trail and walked in a small creek to the edge of a cliff. She spotted a cave behind a large boulder and clambered inside. It was damp and dark, but Aleera just saw it as a way to mask her scent. By this time, Aleera had grown into a teenager. She had always known that at some point in time that she would have left the pack, but she didn't think that it would be this soon. But what was done was done and now she needed a territory of her own. The next day, Aleera started to search the woods by the creek for a better den. She was sniffing around a clearing when something suddenly slammed into her side and pinned her down. Aleera looked up at her attacker with a snarl. It was a female wolf-dog, "Who are you and what are you doing here?!"
Aleera kicked her off and jumped up, growling, "Name's Aleera, and I am staking out my own territory." The wolf-dog lunged at her but Aleera twisted and grabbed her by the scruff and thrust her aside. The wolf-dog was smaller than Aleera, which gave her an advantage. She was about to lunge at the dazed wolf-dog when three other wolves jumped out of the undergrowth. The largest helped the wolf-dog up and asked her, "Now Alue, what are you doing, taking on a timber wolf?"
Aleera smirked, "Yea, Alue, what is a little thing like you thinking, messing with me?"
Alue growled and tried to lunge at her again, but the larger wolf blocked her. "She was trying to take territory, the mange bag!" The other two wolves looked at her and cowered in her shadow as she teasingly snapped at them.
The large male turned to her and smiled, "I am sorry for the inconvenience, but I must inform you that this is our territory."
Aleera smiled back mischievously, "Oh, I believe I could share some."
He laughed and nodded, "Ok, but only for a little while, until you find your own territory." She watched them leave and saw the wolf-dog give her a dirty look and she smirked.
When she was all settled in the same damp cave she had slept in the first day she left her family, Aleera walked around the woods until she noticed a brownish red she-wolf in a clearing with a small dark grey pup. She called out to them, "So, Alue's pack is letting you live here too?"
The female turned on her, "No! This is my territory and that wolf-dog stole my father's love and affection from me as well as my chance to be pack leader!"
Aleera was taken aback, "Hey, cool it! Alue and I aren't exactly fond of each other either."
The she-wolf looked at her, understanding, "On that note, how would you like to join my pack as beta female? I plan on making a strong pack to attack Alue's."
Aleera liked the idea of this and nodded, "I'm Aleera." The she-wolf smiled, "I'm Auburn Sky and that is Dark Moonlight. Hiamovi, the alpha male is out hunting." Aleera knew that she had finally found where she belonged. ***To be continued***
Connection to movie: When Balto saved Nome, the people hunted her old pack, she fought with Alue, and joined Nava's daughter's pack.
Please Note: If you would like to make a relative or one of the three wolves that stopped the fight, just tell me and I'll add your character's name in the biography as needed.

You're welcome (and I think you meant "duly." "dually" would suggest
that something is doing double-duty or twice over; "duly" means
properly or suitably - "duly noted" means something is given the
attention it deserves). |
