Story: Saba was the oldest daughter born to Balto and Jenna's litter. As pups, before they were put for adoption her best friend was her sister Aleu, who she shared all her secrets with and the two always played together. But as Saba got adopted, their bond was broken and they grew apart from each other, which made her feel rather bad because she loved her sister as much as all of her siblings. When she reached her teens, Saba was taken to be trained as a rescue dog. She still lived with the family who adopted her, but worked as a rescue dog after her training was completed and she was proud of her job, and so were her parents. As a teen she was very eager about it, but as she grew older she got more calm and took things with care, thinking before acting. Like her mother Jenna, Saba had grown into a very beautiful dog and she became a target for lots of males in Nome, who tried to win her affection by showing off and stuff, but she was never interested in them and the only thing she cared for was her job, which she took very seriously. One evening, Saba was walking home from her father's, whom she'd spent the day with, when she came across a young wolf, who was limping badly - he had injured one of his front legs on a bear trap, he was exhausted and pleaded Saba for help, so she helped him to her house and alerted her owner, who, while reluctant at first, took him in and bandaged his leg, even giving him some of their leftoevers. While Saba's owner wasn't pleased about having a wolf in their house, Saba took quite an interest to the stranger, and learned that his name was James. They soon became friends, and as James's leg healed and he was able to walk again, they would go on nightly walks - mainly because they didn't want James to be spotted by the town's folk, or he might have been hunted down and shot. Over time, the longer he stayed in Nome, the more Saba found herself caring for the wolf, and when he started talking about heading back to the wild, the harder it was for Saba to decide whether or not she should reveal her feelings. Finally the day came when James announced that he was leaving, and that he wanted Saba to come with him. Saba was naturally shocked by this proposal, and so scared and confused at her own feelings that instead of giving a straight answer, she started yelling at him and told him that if he really wanted to just leave, she couldn't care less, which of course wasn't true. This left both herself and James shocked and heartbroken, and then, he took off without another word. Saba broke into tears and ran over to her mother's house, and after crying over Jenna's shoulder for a while, she realized what a terrible mistake she had made. A snow storm had just started, but Saba didn't care - she had to find James. So she set out to brave the growing blizzard, using her rescue dog skills to track the wolf down, and finally to her horror, found him lying unconcsnious on the ground, almost entirely covered in snow. Saba carried James back to Nome and took him to the warm boiler room, and when he awoke, she apologized and confessed that she loved him. They became mates, and James settled in the woods near Nome, so he could be near Saba.
