Name Meaning: The Norse god of light, joy, purity, beauty, innocence, and reconciliation who was loved by both humans and gods

Gender: Male

Age: 2-3 Years (Still quite young)

Breed: Alaskan Tundra Wolf 

Balto Related: Yes, his mother was the white wolf from the second movie 

Character

Likes: Freedom, leading, running around, playing pranks, joking, swimming, and salmon

Dislikes: Humans, following, not getting enough sleep, being hungry, bears taking his salmon, and commitment

Fears: Having to lose his "brothers" to actually lead a real wolf pack with an alpha female

Wishes: To live freely 

Personality: Balder is a very free-spirit with an unusually kind heart but despite that he's probably not a guy you want to be in a serious relationship with. He's a huge flirt and can lead people on but only flirts and doesn't wish for anything more. He doesn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings but he's kind of oblivious to others romantic feelings even though he seems observant enough to catch other emotions. 

Being the son of two great alpha wolves he has a very noble, charismatic sway to his character and he's that naturally brave leader just because he was raised as such, he doesn't do it for the social status. As mentioned above he has a terribly kind heart which leads him to do unwise things out of sympathy and loyalty. But he can be quite the quiet type and even though he comes off as a social butterfly most of his real ideas and thoughts are only shared with those closest to him. 

Physical Appearance: He has light, light grey fur (not white) but has his mother's bright yellow eyes. He has darker gray patches on his back and around his eyes. The stormy grey markings are on the tips of his ears (again like his mother) and tail, along with a shoulder bar that most wolf experts have dubbed as the mark of a dominant male.

When Rendering: A very scruffy, more wolf-like Balto or a extremely altered, more Balto-like Aniu.

Biography: Balder was born to a wise she-wolf dubbed "White wolf" and was the offspring of the famous Hige, an alpha of another pack who had been forced to be with the "white wolf". Hige had no idea he even had a pup with another she-wolf because he had a mate of his own and after being forced into his relationship with the "white wolf" he escaped soon after. Therefore Balder didn't really know his father even though he acted a lot like him. 

When Balder was around four months old his mother's small territory and pack was blamed for the attacks on family pets in Nome (even though it was really Niju's rougue pack) and hunters were sent in to kill some of the wolves. They only killed a few because a wolf researcher and her team came to Nome in search of wolves to study and soon re-locate to a huge territory on one of the islands in the Alexander Archipelago. 

After being trained to be a charming leader by his mother a now ten month old Balder was playing with his young friends when he was shot with a dart by the researchers and thrown into a cage. When he woke up he was a young, fearful pup who had just lost his entire family. After that he never really saw humans as just another mammal but an enemy. 

Balder was dropped off on the large island in the Archipelago as just a small puppy and had first had trouble adapting to the lonely, dangerous life. He was trailed by bears daily, on the verge of starving, and just lonely when the first of the other stolen pups were dropped off at the island. It was then when Balder created their band and their brotherhood soon grew to around six--seven wolves and instead of being trailed by bears, they were trailing the bears. 

They became some of the most feared predators on their island and Balder decided to expand their territory. Since Balder was one of the only wolves who was a good swimmer he taught his brothers how to swim and to even catch his favorite food: Salmon. They swam to a close island and found another wolf pack in the relocation project, but this one had lots of females. The brothers flirted with the girls but they all preferred their brotherly friendship over the lives with a mate under an older alpha male, therefore they returned to their island. Yet they never stopped visting the neighboring island of the Moonlight Pack. 

Soon Balder and his brothers had managed to chase off the wolf researchers from their island and at two and a half Balder finally gained a territory of his own. He called his pack the "Archipelago Pack" because he was proud and saw he and his brothers as the rulers of the entire Alexander Archipelago. 

Now, going on three, he still leads his brothers into messes, awkward situations, pranks, and trouble but he wouldn't trade it for the world.
