*Affectionately called ‘Roo at times by her owner’s younger sibling.

Gender: Female

Linage: Balto and Jenna 

Breed: 25% Wolf and 75% Husky.

Siblings: 5 others including Aleu, Saba, Kodi, Dingo, and an unnamed red-faced sibling.

Personality:  Simple on the outside- immensely complex on the inside. She seems hyperactive, talkative on the outside and overly inquisitive.  She is actually pretty cautious and always asks questions, especially when she’s afraid of being wrong. She has spurts of vast and uncharacteristic bravery, but those are few and far between. She can be a little annoying, but is very caring and has a large heart.

Passions:  She’s not the best sled dog- and rarely gets to do it, it makes her a little nervous but she still enjoys it a great deal. She loves spending time with “her girl” and when her owner brings her to watch the races. She dreams of being a star runner- but lacks the skills currently.

Aversions:  Though Ida loves her sister, Saba can drive Ida crazy at times. Ida has always been jealous of the attention Kodi receives and Saba’s perfect-husky looks. She takes it very personally when she is called out on not being a full husky and the conversation always turns sour.  Don’t ask about her double blue eyes. Just don’t.

History:   Ida was born to Jenna and Balto along with 5 other siblings in a shed near Rosie’s. She loved spending time with both of her parents, but wished “Daddy could just be with Mommy all the time.” When it came time for her to find her own home,  Ida was taken home by a young girl named Sarah while Sarah’s  best friend Terry took home Saba. Sarah and Terry were very close playmates; this meant Saba and Ida virtually grew up together, and shared a very close bond.

As Sarah grew older, she and Terry drifted apart- Saba and Ida saw less and less of each other, they soon drifted apart as well. Rosie and Sarah grew closer- bringing Ida closer to her mother. Ida didn’t see much of her father in town and when she did- Balto was often focused on Kodi and his vast sledding achivments. Aleu was also held in the apple of her father’s eye. Ida wanted her chance in the sun. She tried to run alongside a racing team, but fell far behind.  Oh well. She tried and would continue to do so. She tries her best when put into a harness, but knows there are better dogs out there.

She also got tangled up in a brief affair with Julian- and is a little in love with him though she sees him for who he truly is. Julian sees her enough just to drive her wild, but often flirts right in front of poor Ida, crushing her- but she’d never show it.  Ida and Julian treat each other like siblings now, but there is always that passion just below the surface that he gives into. He has no regard to her feelings. Unlike him, she was raised to have a very active conscious and her decisions when it comes to him often frighten her and riddle her with guilt.
