History: When Gawain was a pup, he looked up to his father Balto and begged his mother every night to tell the story of how he saved Nome. He strives to be a racer like him so every day he ran out on the beach for hours on end "training" himself so he could become a racer like his father. He later got adopted by a 16 year old boy named Joseph who he grew very attached to his first few months in his owners home. He enjoyed having a home to stay in, but in a bad turn of events, Joseph's father unexpectedly died and slowly his family started to lose money from lack of support. Even after Joseph tried to get a job himself they could no longer afford living in their home in Nome and had to resort traveling to New York with the little money they had to live with his aunt. However they couldn't afford to bring Gawain with them and were forced to leave Gawain behind to live on his own. Gawain took his home into the streets of Nome where he slept in alleys and fed off of food that was thrown out by stores. He later met up with three other stray dogs like himself and they quickly became friends, but he was the closest with Garrick who was became his best friend. In later years, Gawain reunited with his older brother Radcliff who successfully became a famous sled dog known as Blitz. Blitz took Gawain into his owners home and his owner agreed to take him in and later decided to train him into becoming a real sled dog.
