Name: Ash
Gender: Male
Age: A year older than Aleu and Kodi
How he is related to Balto: He knows Balto's son Dingo and loathes him, possibly related to the white wolf
Mate: None
Eye Color: Reddish brown
Other Characteristics: He is a well built wolf who is taller than Balto. He is a bluish grey, and has dark stockings on his front legs and white toes.
Family: Father- Chevak, Mother- Woodrow who is questionably related to the white wolf, He has two older brothers Sitka, Chevak (named after his father) who are from a different litter, and has a younger sister named Rice, also from a different litter.
Friends: His best friend is a large wolf named Raven who is usually the one who pacifies Ash's antics, he also befriended Raven's younger sister Blue jay, and he attempts to befriend Togiak a female wolf in the pack he likes, but being socially and emotionally constipated was unsuccesseful in wooing her.
Personality: He is mentally imbalanced and generally he can be quite antagonistic. Ash has a deep apreciation for the art of pessimism, and tends to be very cautious especially when it comes to the safety of Rice and the younger members of the pack he belongs to. He is usually suspicious about the intentions of others and often misinterprets other's actions as being malicious. He has a delusional fear of humans and anything to do with them.
History: He was born in Chevak and Woodrow's 2nd litter. As a puppy he was unnaturally aggresive and mistrustful of others, these traits escalated when his father died after Ash had a petty fight with him. Shortly after his father's death Raven finished teaching Ash to hunt and fight, and formed a very close relationship with Ash. Rice was also born close to the time of Chevak's death. Ash became very protective of her and constantly warned her not to go anywhere near anything associated with humans, so of course she takes a fascination to humans and brings Dingo to the pack. Ash was immediately overrun by his own fear and threatens to leave the pack. A female wolf in the pack Togiak manages to convince him to stay, by admitting she'd miss him in more than just a friend way *nudge nudge wink wink*. So he listened to her, and committed to making Dingo's life hell.

I love this character, his personality is really fascinating and he's
not a Mary Sue (or Gary Stu whatever XD) I feel bad that he's so mean
to Dingo, though. |

Kitty -- kudos on a relatively decent response instead of the very
typical overreactions which occur on this site. I will, however,
respond to one thing you said: " I keep in mind that Balto is a cartoon about talking dogs who have unrealistically saturated fur colors. Though I take your opinion and keep it in mind, I do believe that this character is fine the way it is, and for now the eye color will not change." I cannot argue that, in one or two cases, the colors of the dogs coats may be a bit much (Jenna and her puppies' high-intensity reds or even Dixie's lavender). However, do you recall any of the dogs, or any of the "real" animals (and by that I mean those that weren't spirits, as in the case of Aniu's various incarnations in Balto 2) for that matter, having devil eyes? I'm betting not. Because none of
them did. The fact that the dogs talk through the movies is
irrelevant to the other issue. They talk because, otherwise, each
might be a pretty boring movies. XDStill, as you seem to understand, my post was not an implication that you HAD to change anything, and you are free to decline to take the advice offered. I think that's unfortunate, but it is your right. |

JerseyCaptain-> First of all thank you for the critique and I welcome
you to do so on any of my other works or future characters. Though I see your point. My character is indeed "unrealistic." I keep in mind that Balto is a cartoon about talking dogs who have unrealistically saturated fur colors. Though I take your opinion and keep it in mind, I do believe that this character is fine the way it is, and for now the eye color will not change. I thank you again for sharing your opinion with me, but respectfully decline your advice. Charlottethesandcat-> This was the entire point of this character. To. Creep. You. Out. Star Fire-> Sorry, but no. Thank you for the offer C: |

The one thing that bothers me about this character is the red eyes,
which are entirely unrealistic. There really is no need, in character
design, to add unrealistic physical attributes just to set it apart
from other characters with similar markings, coloration and body
style. Creating a good character is more than just what it happens to
look like. |
