NAME: Juin

ORIGIN: An alternate spelling of the month 'June' (it's pronounced the same way), the sixth month of the year.

PERSONALITY: Like her brother, Niju, Juin is quite ambitious but possess no real moral streak. However, she lacks his confidence - especially after he disappears - and tries to get what she what she wants through deceit and manipulation, turning friends against each other and what-not. Despite her egotistical streak, she is secretly insecure and shaken by the absence of her family; her deviousness is the result of some paranoia and distrust, which only grows worse once she's exiled. Coupled with the isolation of being without a pack, she becomes cold and aggressive, becoming somewhat of a scourge amongst her fellow packmembers.

RELATION TO BALTO UNIVERSE: Niju's half-sister.
 
STORY: Born around the same time as Aleu and her siblings, Juin's (and Niju's mother) died during childbirth and her father was absent from her childhood as he is described as a loveless rogue. As a consquence, Njiu mostly raised her through puphood. Juin eventually became a respected hunter of the pack, although her duties soon dwindled after the caribou crossed the Great Water. She and her brother drifted apart somewhat when Nava began to talk of a new leader approaching the land. Too afraid of losing her hard-earned respect in the pack, Juin respectfully kept to herself as she refused to choose between her pack and her brother. Once Aleu led her and the other wolves across the ice bridge, she became bitter towards herself and other members of the pack, especially Aleu, once she realised her brother had not left their old packlands. Following a shakeup of ranks by the new leader, Juin lost her prized rank and was placed amongst some of the lower-ranked wolves of the pack. Paranoid that she was being treated unfairly due to being related to Niju - who had nearly killed Aleu - she began to gather a following amongst her fellow subordinates and the younger members. Ignoring the fact that Aleu has allowed her to stay with the pack, Juin constantly desires to cause problems for her leader and takes great delight in observing the results of her strife.

OTHER: Basically Aleu's rival in terms of leadership, I doubt every single member of Nava's pack would just suddenly accept a newcomer to their lands as their leader through and through. So, anything Aleu can do, Juin thinks she can do better and that includes being annoying. :>
