History: Vegas was born to a forcibly retired greyhound named Vanir. Vanir, whose bitter selfishness had no room for a child, dumped Vegas on her sister and Vegas's aunt, Wendigo. Wendigo raised Vegas with her own pups, and he grew up much happier than he would have had Vanir kept him. Wendigo never kept the fact that Vegas was not her biological son a secret from him, but she did not reveal the identity of his mother for fear that Vegas would seek her out and be subjected to Vanir's diatribe and nasty attitude.
It wasn't until a slip of the tongue that Vegas got a name; Vanir. When he confronted Wendigo, she told him all about Vanir, but warned him to stay away from her, for fear of his safety. No one is safe from Vanir's wrath, not even her son.
It was shortly after this confession that Vegas met Masha, a sly red fox. The two became friends, Masha offered to be by Vegas's side when he finally confronts his mother, but Vegas is too afraid to stand up. Vegas lives with Wendigo.
His family life: Vegas sees Vanir around town, but he is afraid of her. He regards Wendigo and Spectral as his true parents.
Relation to Balto: Friends with the fox from Balto 2.
