Background:

As a child, Hachiko was the only pup in his litter that was named. He was called "Hachiko" because of his confidence. The name was given to him by his Father, who later died of heart worms. Hachiko didn't understand and was unwilling to except the truth, and when he found an open door, he ran away. Hachiko met a wolf about the size of his father along the outskirts of town. The wolf was brown with big paws and had kind eyes. Balto, the wolf, took Hachiko in.

He grew big and strong, a similar coloring to his father and mother. He wandered back into nome and decided to live in the boiler room, where he met a male cat and his mate.

The male cat was called Brakenfur and the female was Carlotta. Hachiko and Braken became buddies and took the roles of protecting Carlotta and her kittens. The kitttens were born about four months later, five of them.

They each got to choose a name, and the rest were left un-named. Hachiko called his Dusty, Braken called the only boy Lucius and Carlotta chose the name Harley.

When the kittens were old enough to walk around under the hospital and around the boiler room alone, Hachiko left to join a mail team in Nome, led by a she-dog called Athena. Hachiko was placed in the fifth line in front of another she-dog, Icess. Hachiko took a liking to one female who had a crush on the lead dog's mate, Taylor, she was called Adelle. He never said much to her, but would always talk to Braken and the kittens about her, they didn't offer much help.

Hachiko did well on his first run to white mountain, and afterwards, started up a conversation with her. She wasn't as bright as he thought she was. She trotted away without so much as a backward glance, Hachi then accepted he wasn't a ladies man.

The next day, he tried again but this time, with a different approach. He brought his best friend along,Braken to do the talking.  The cat  merrily told the she-dog Hachiko's new-found love for her apperance. Hachiko face-palmed, knowing the stupid cat had messed up every chance they would even have together. The female cocked her head, "Well if he only likes me for my apperance...Hes pathetic, thats no way to get a girl to like him."

The cat shrugged and walked away, and suddenly began laughing, "Damn, she told you!." Hachiko growled, "...Bacause you messed it up!"

 Hachiko looked back at her disappearing shape,  "I'll try again tomorrow...and your not comming either!"  He glared at the still-laughing cat.
