Despite that, she is fun and loving. She has many friends, but has just as many enemies. Hathor is very social, and hates to lie to her friends, unless it’s a white lie. She also has a great imagination and enjoys making things and thinking up stories. She is also a bit claustrophobic, and hates being in small spaces.

Dislikes: Backstabbers, liars, being proved wrong, being wet and cold at the same time, Jenna, pain, enclosed spaces, being trapped, being too full, having a dry mouth and being thirsty, forgetting what she was doing or going to say after being distracted, strong winds, going to sleep and not being tired, being tired and not sleeping
History: Hathor was born in a litter of five on a farm in Plymouth, England in 1919. Her father was a working dog on the farm, and her mother was a pet. She and her siblings were one of many litters of the pair. They stayed on the farm for two months before their fates were decided by the owners. Most of them, including Hathor, were put up for sale, only one was kept as a working dog.
Hathor was bought by the owner of a large dog food company, who was looking for a new mascot. She was spayed after she was bought, so she couldn’t have unwanted pups. Hathor was used in many advertisements from a young age, and was well known as the mascot of the company for three years. Unfortunately, the company went bankrupt, and were forced to close down. Hathor’s master saw no need for her anymore, as she was bought purely to be used in advertisements, and dropped her off at the local shelter.
There she stayed for 3 weeks, before being adopted by a young woman named Erica Dawson who was in training to be a nurse. She brought Hathor home, deciding to keep her original name (as her previous owner had told the workers in the shelter her name), and the pair became almost inseparable. Hathor loved this life a lot more than her life as the mascot of a dog food brand.
In early 1925, the a few children contracted Diphtheria (before the epidemic) and Erica moved to Nome to assist the doctors, unaware the disease would eventually break out into an epidemic. The pair travelled by plane to get to Nome, and Erica ordered for their things to be transported by boat (which were, a short while later, postponed until after the pack ice cleared enough for the boat to pass) and stayed in a hotel until they were able to rent a house (Erica had contacted many people who were renting before they had left to make sure they had somewhere to live). She soon rented the house, unpacked the few items of clothing and possessions they could bring by plane, and began work in the hospital.
Hathor spent most of her time during Erica’s shifts travelling around the town, and getting used to her new home. She met a lot of her new neighbours within the next week, such as Jenna, who she didn’t particularly like as much as anyone else. She thought Jenna was spoiled and selfish, and that she thought much higher of herself than others. Many would question her thoughts on Jenna, as they all thought that Jenna was sweet and kind and tried to convince her otherwise, but Hathor thought that everyone was entitled to an opinion, and her opinion on Jenna was based off how she is treated by Jenna and how Jenna treats others from her perspective.
When the epidemic spread, Erica was needed at the hospital a lot more, and hardly had time to look after Hathor, which Hathor accepted as she was helping sick children. When the doctor, Curtis Welch, let Jenna stay with Rosy, that gave Erica the idea to ask if she could let Hathor visit the children. Welch approved and Hathor became the hospital’s animal companion for the patients.
Soon the Epidemic was cured, thanks to Balto, Steele and the team (as Steele did run the medicine some of the way), but Hathor and Erica continued their work in the hospital.
Relation to Balto: Her owner worked in the hospital where Rosy stayed and she knows many of the characters from the films
