Story: Barley was born in the second litter of Chinook and Marlee. Once he was old enough he was adopted off to Mr. and Mrs. Howserstein. Mr.Howsersteins job at the time, was working as miner for the Pioneer Gold Mining Company and as such Barley was taught to be able to pull cartloads to help Mr.Howsterstein in his work. This only lasted for a year though, when the Company was sold Mr.Howserstein decided to quite the hard mining work and opted to try and make a living out of crafting. He began to make sled's, and other woodcraft and with Barley's help, he would test each sled out by having Barley pull it with various amounts of load on it.
Whenever Barley wouldn't be helping his master, he would be spending time inside with the Mrs and their first born child. Barley would enjoy spending time with the Mrs. as she was always kind. As time went on though, he would come to share her affections with a kitten that she had bought from a nearbye neighbor. At first Barley held a great dislike for the kitten, but soon grew to enjoy the young kittens company.
Barley will most likely live out his life testing out sled's for his master and being a great companion to his family.
