Story- Diggs was bred under an inexperienced breeder. While he was a gorgeous tiny pup and sweetest thing you could ever meet we couldn’t say no. $150 almost seemed to good to be true for a pure bred shepherd, but the breeders claimed it was because they lost the papers. Two days later we discover the puppy is extremely ill and is days away form death from parvo. By the second day Diggs went from bad to worse. You could suddenly count every rib and any thing he would drink he would throw up and would refuse to eat. The deadly disease was admitted by unclean surroundings, such as dog feces piling up and urine left every where (which it was). Because the breeders where irresponsible five beautiful, innocent puppies have parvo. One puppy survived and that was Diggs’ brother, Dante. This character page is a tribute to those lost puppies and especially Diggs. I didn’t know him for long, but I knew him long enough to watch his suffering, like when he tried to play with my dog Bandit, and would start running only to fall, and be unable to get back up. I’m sorry what happened to Diggs and his brothers, but this is just one small case, of widely known and unknown animal abuse.

Story/Other~

History- Diggs was born in bad conditions. A small home in a small neighbor hood. The owners where losing their home and didn’t care to take care of it so they let it go to waste. It reeked of horrible waste and feces. Diggs was sold and resold many times due to his sickness no one was quite sure what to do with him but to give him back. One day when he was 8 weeks old, an older man came by and fell in love with Diggs. While his illness wasn’t that noticeable it was clear something was a bit off, but the man didn’t care. He loved the pup. After a few days of owning the dog he became worried, and scared for the dog’s life. He took Diggs to the vet and received the news. Diggs was tested positive with parvo and had a 50, 50 chance of living even with $1500 treatment. The man feared for the young dog’s life and took the chance spending the money. Unfortunately the man had a stroke and was unable to take further care of the dog, but instead ordered the dog to be shipped to his closest relative, Shaun. Shaun ran a dog sledding team up in Alaska and often made shipments. Once Diggs’ treatment was finished he was shipped down there. Shaun had many dogs and often neglected the special treatment Diggs needed on accident and left him prone to stroke further on in his life. As Diggs grew older and bolder he became a bit more aggressive and not as sweet and loveable and often fought the dogs on the team, even though he never started the fights. Shaun was forced to kick Diggs out onto the streets and as five months old he didn’t handle well. One day Jenna found him scrapping in the trash and sent him to Balto. Balto taught him the ropes of the streets and Diggs grew quite close to Balto and even grew popular among the dogs, good or bad. Diggs still roams the street making friends and starting fights.
