Personality: Thrifty, kind-hearted, forgiving, realistic, friendly, and somewhat gullible as well. Chrome makes pretty good choices, and is a very friendly guy. However, being abused for part of his life has made him somewhat cynical. He tends to be forgiving if he thinks that the person is truly apologetic. Chrome can be gullible when he's not paying attention, but after being tricked once, it's hard to out-smart Chrome again.

History

Born to Steele and Jenna as the only male, Steele had high hopes for him. Chrome was born a year before the Serum Run occurred, and was a big secret between Steele and Jenna. Jenna and Steele often had many flings, but Jenna never ended up pregnant. The two weren't official mates, but Steele's owner and Rosie's parents didn't seem to mind the idea of Jenna having Steele's pups. When Jenna realized she was pregnant, she kept it secret from every dog in Nome but Steele and Doc. 

Steele was happy, because he wanted Jenna to get pregnant. For him, it wasn't an accident in his eyes, he did it on purpose many times because he thought Jenna would be fit to continue his bloodline. Jenna didn't seem to mind having pups, considering Steele was just starting out his career as a sled dog.

Steele started to become popular a few months after Chrome was born. As soon as Steele became popular, he left Jenna and his secret pups behind. He became a glory hound, and left Jenna with nothing. Jenna was hurt, and got help from Doc, who was like a father figure to her. Doc helped Jenna raise Chrome and his sisters, and when the pups were old enough to leave Jenna, they were all sold across the Yukon territory.

Chrome was sold to an abusive musher. Chrome lived in very poor conditions for his first year, but escaped and returned back to Nome (right after the Serum Run), not sure of where else to go. Chrome became a stray, but never told anyone who we was. Jenna kept it secret that he was her son, and pretended as if he was a stranger around her mate, Balto. Chrome becomes very close to his mother, but it is unknown to Balto that Chrome is Jenna's son.

Chrome finds it hard to live around Aleu, Kodi, and all of Jenna's first litter pups with Balto, and decides to go to Fairbanks when his sister, Tin, returns to Nome. Chrome goes with Tin, in hopes to find a better life. Chrome becomes a sled dog on Tin's team, and a year later, they return back to Nome.

This time, Jenna is pregnant with another litter of Balto's pups. Chrome decides to stay in town, and Tin stays for a few days to be with her mother as well. On accident, Silver shows up in town with none other than Steele, and Zinc. Copper returns on accident as well. Eventually, the secret of Jenna's fling with Steele, is shown to Balto as all of these look-alikes of Steele and Jenna appear around Nome. Upset and angry at Jenna, Balto leaves his mate right before Jenna gives birth to her second litter of pups with Balto.

Chrome and all of his sisters (except Silver) try to talk Balto back into being with Jenna, but it is too late. Balto disappears, Steele and Silver leave with Steele's musher, Tin goes with her team, and Zinc, Chrome, and Copper all stay with their mother to raise a litter of 12 pups.
