Personality: Blake is a wolf that's determined to do what's best and finish what he started no matter how hard or dangerous it is. He is also confident that he can complete anything he sets his mind to, but his confidence and determination can cause him to be stubborn at times, especially when it comes to someone trying to prevent him from doing something or trying to convince him otherwise.
Even though his confidence and determination can get the best of him at times, he is actually a very friendly, polite, and caring individual. He likes to meet other wolves and dogs and as long as they treat him well, he'll treat them the same. But when someone tries to act tough with him or pick a fight with him, they'd be lucky to walk out without losing blood!
For almost his entire life, Blake didn't have anyone to look out for him or help him out, so he had to depend on himself. As he grew up, he quickly grew fond of taking care of himself because his own decisions would greatly benefit him, so he really enjoys being self-reliant. He hates when he has to rely on others to do things for him because more often than not, they don't end up doing it right. One other thing he developed from being self-reliant was learning new skills. Since he had no one for the majority of his early life, he had to teach himself how to hunt, take care of himself, and fight and thanks to his methods of teaching himself, he soon turned into an amazing hunter and fighter! Learning new skills also taught him how to think sensibly and quickly, and how to adapt to new environments.
Being alone didn't really cause Blake to be lonely and crave attention. He actually liked it at times because it allowed him to be free spirited and have no limitations. He loved having this feeling because he was always ordered around as a pup in his former pack. Once he was free, he vowed never to have the same life he used to have, so when someone orders him around a lot, it can really irritate him.
He also cares greatly about his family. Before he met his mate Ina, he always moved around never staying in one area for a long time and he never really met any other wolves. When he finally met Ina, he finally got to experience what it was like to have a friend, to be loved, and to have a place he could call home, and it felt great! His family was what really gave him the life he always dreamed of and he will do anything to protect them.
Likes: Being with his family, hunting, meeting new wolves/dogs (depending on their attitude), learning new skills, not having any worries, doing whatever he wants whenever he wants, being self-reliant, finishing what he started, recieving advice.
Dislikes: Not being able to see his family, wolves/dogs that think they're "all that", wolves/dogs that like to show off, "racist" wolves/dogs, being hungry, hunters, dealing with situations/problems "the hard way", being ordered or pushed around, relying on others to do things for him, giving up, leaving things incomplete, being told useless things
Fears: Dying, his family being harmed or being killed, his past coming back to haunt him
History: Blake was born into a wolf pack deep in the Alaskan mountains. His parents intended for him to have a long and happy life, but the the traditional customs and beliefs of his pack threatened these hopes his parents had. His parents were lowest rank in the whole pack, which was basically the rank of slave. They had to do all the hard work, tend to the needs of the pack leaders, they couldn't go on any hunts, and they had to do whatever their superiors told them. More often than not, their expectations from the leaders were not met, which would end up with a severe beating or, if they were nice, harder work. And it wasn't a surprise if either punishment led to death.
One of the pack's customs was that when a pup is born, they inherit the same rank and duties as their parents, but they could still move up in the pack's social structure if they proved themselves worthy enough, and as soon as Blake was able to see; walk; and speak, he began working and that's exactly what he would try to do. However, these beliefs turned out only to be an excuse to make the slaves work harder. Blake worked as hard as he could from day one to try to prove that he was deserving of a higher rank, but all the other wolves did was laugh at him and continue to push him around and even hit and abuse him. Some did it to "build character," most of them did it because they were annoyed by his "smart alec" attitude and wanted to try and break his spirits. Even though he was only a puppy, the leaders had no sympathy for him and still made him do work that most pups couldn't handle. His parents still had hopes he would rise among the ranks, but after working for what seemed like an eternity, Blake was fed up with his life. His family had no respect, they were seen as tools rather than living beings, he was treated the same no matter how hard he worked, and his "smart alec" attitude was always getting him into trouble and causing him to be beaten and abused. So at only 3 months old, he made the decision that would change his life forever. He decided to run away!
Blake tried to convince his parents and the other slaves that they should all just leave the pack and start new lives with each other, but no one, not even his parents, were willing to go with him. Some of them feared that as punishment for leaving they would be caught and tortured to death or their families would be subject to torture if they weren't caught. His parents begged Blake to not think or talk about leaving because rumors of it began to spread through the pack and the leaders began to crack down on who may have started it, but Blake's mind was made up, he was leaving whether he would be on his own or not. He didn't dare tell anyone when he would be leaving because there would most likely be someone to stop him, so early one morning the 3 month old puppy got up, gave his sleeping parents a few goodbye licks while they slept, and just walked off unannounced. Ever since then, he has never looked back.
It was very difficult for the 3 month old puppy to live on his own because he had very little knowledge about how to hunt or look after himself and he was still very young, but for the first time in his life, he actually felt free! Free of the abuse, free of the labor, free of everything! But the one thing he wasn't free of was the guilt of leaving his family and friends behind. As much as he wanted his parents with him, he knew there was no use going back now.
The first thing he would have to deal with to live on his own would be getting food. Since he never really had any lessons on hunting, he basically had to teach himself. What he would do is he would try hunting, and if it failed, he would start thinking back to what he did wrong and what other techniques or skills he could do to improve. It didn't take long before he was becoming more and more effective on hunts, and every once in a while, he would also run into a few other lone wolves that would give him pointers. He even became a better hunter than most of the hunters in his old pack! He greatly impressed many of the wolves he met in his travels by how much he knew at such a young age and many of them even offered to adopt him! But he refused their offers because he was enjoying life on his own. but after spending most of his puppy-hood life on his own, his adulthood was coming up on him!
During the first months on his own, he could never find a permanent home due to scarce prey and confrontations by other wolves, so he had to move around a lot. Then when he was about a year old, he arrived in an unclaimed territory just outside Nome, Alaska that was filled with prey! It looked like he had found a place to call home! On his first day in the new territory, he met a female wolf-dog named Ina, who was about the same age as him that lived in Nome. Even though she was 3/4 wolf she looked a lot like a dog, which caused Blake to think she was a dog, which also led to a small argument. But later that day, Blake helped her take down a large raven in her first hunt and soon after that they became best friends, but it didn't take long before they started to develop closer feelings for each other.
After staying in his new home for several months, Blake and Ina finally admitted they loved each other and when they were 2 years old they had a litter of 4 pups. 3 boys (Talenta, Queen, and Gyzy) and 1 girl (Fine, pronounced Fi-nay). However, this infuriated Ina's brother Buio because he did not like Blake for "stealing" Ina from him, so he tried to kill Ina by throwing her off a cliff to "save her" and then he would try to kill Blake. However, Blake was able to defeat Buio and save Ina's life, but he lost his front left paw and Ina lost her front right leg in the process. After Blake recovered, he refused to let his missing paw stop him from living his usual life, so he found a way to work his missing paw into being able to hunt, and once again, he taught himself more useful skills that would help him in the future. Now, Ina has a prosthetic leg, but she also refused to let that stop her from living her life the way she wanted it. Neither one of them blames each other for losing their limbs and they still love each other just as much as they did when they first said they loved each other.
