History: KitKit was the new addition to Montrose's K9 Unit. She was immediately paired with Montrose, and the two bonded while taking on cases. On a rainy, rainy night, KitKit was let loose by her K9 Unit officer, and she began romping around and taking in the scents of dogs and other animals. She heard shuffling as she stepped up to the shack Montrose had disappeared into. KitKit heard a sudden loud, sharp BANG!
She scrambled inside and saw Montrose bleeding from a gunshot wound. KitKit, despite her rank, lunged to him, but was caught by her K9 Unit officer. She was taken to the police car, and watched as the assaulter was cuffed, and Montrose was carried away in a stretcher. She visited the medical office after the officers had locked up for the night. KitKit laid beside Montrose's berth and told stories of all the times she'd watched him on his investigations, and how she wished she could be there as well. Montrose awoke and leaned over the side, although in pain. He thanked KitKit for all the times she had been there, and kissed her forehead.
Ever since the incident, KitKit has developed a phobia of guns that began to grow so out of control that KitKit's human partner was forced to bring his gun in a leather pouch to avoid any problems.

There is one thing I'm not sure I get. How is her fear of guns
ironic? Irony is what goes against the expected; for example, the
Joker calling for Batman to save his life is ironic. I can see how
being afraid of guns because your friend got shot would be illogical
(guns don't kill; people kill), but I don't see it as the least bit
unexpected. |
