Name: Charley
Age: 3-4
Gender: female
Breed: malamute/akita
Parents: unknown
Siblings: unknown
Pups: (1st) Raven (2nd) Chava, Jobi Dove, Cardinal, Faline(adopted)
Personality: stubborn, kind, loyal. She can be a bit too trusting for her own good, but she follows what her gut tells her, even when it gets her hurt. However, she has become withdrawn and quiet, and is often emotionally tired because of her many fights with Raven, even though she is desperately trying to fix their relationship.
History: No ones quiet sure where she cam from, but she somehow wound up on the doorstep of the post office. The owner was baffled by the pup, but he took her in and raised her. When she was 3 months old, her owner brought home a orange female, much older then her, and soon Charley learned the dogs name was Mena. Charley was intrigued by this dog, who seemed to want nothing to do with her. The two dogs had different personality, but got along rather well, and are known for teasing each other good naturedly. Mena hung out with a female called Crysa, who Charley didn't know very well. Charley spent a lot of her time with a brown female named Junie. The two got along well, even if Junie was Crysa's sister, and they were often seen together. She's rather skilled in healing and herbs, but she prefers not to say anything about it unless someone needs help.(she fears she'll sound braggish)
Crush: Had a past, very brief, relationship with Derrek (C)Lone (-coughtwicecough-)
Mate: Cavan
Relationship With Derrek(1): She had just been out looking for moss and she happen to catch the eye of a nearby male. Derrek trotted up to her and started flirting. Charley was flustered (hey, shes not around guys much xD), yet a tiny bit flattered. Derrek kept "running into her" and she thought she was getting to know him. When he convinced her to have a night of *cough* "fun", Charley was reluctant, but Derrek persuaded her. After that one night, Charley tried approaching Derrek, but he shrugged her off and flirted with other females. Charley was heartbroken and deeply hurt. She ran home where her friends tried to comfort her, but they couldn't do much. Charley buried herself in her herbs, hardly talking to anyone, not even her friends. After awhile, Charley began feeling strange. One of her friends was the first to guess it, and a trip to the vet confirmed it: Charley was pregnant.
The black female was terrified. She knew who's pup it was, it could only be Derrek's. And that scared her even more. Charley's friends soothed and helped her through it, and eventually, Charley gave birth to a single pup: a little female she named Raven.
At first, Raven seemed to help ease Charley into being herself again. Until the pup opened it's eyes. Raven's eyes were pale and clouded. She was blind.
Charley was shocked. Angry and upset, she sought out Derrek and blamed him for her blind daughter. When Derrek merely shrugged her off, Charley scratched him across the face.
Relationship With Derrek(2): Two years passed before Charley saw Derrek again (saw as in bumped into, because she'd seen him around town but avoided him), and at first she intended to just walk off, but Derrek hurt himself and it just wasn't in her nature to leave an injured dog alone (even if it was just a cut). Rather, aggressively, she fixed him up, and during this he actually apologized. Stunned, Charley, despite her wanting to leave his presence as soon as possible, let him explain himself. Derrek explained how he was raising one of his recent pups, and the pup was disabled in many ways and he felt bad about how he had left many females to raise pups themselves. Particularly her, since Raven had been blind. Despite this, Charley flew into a rage, shouting at him that he had only a small idea of what it was like. After she had spouted her rage at him, she, reluctantly, listened as he re-worded his apology, and after this one, which sounded more heartfelt, Charley, a tad bitterly, accepted it, admitting she she knew about his addiction all along and had foolishly thought he'd fight it for her. Derrek said he'd try, and soon Charley was pregnant again. Unfortunately, shortly after the pups, two girls, where born, Charley found out Derrek was "sleeping around" again, and confronted him about it. He admitted to it, and Charley snapped. Enraged, both at him for doing it and herself for believing him again, she ordered him to leave.
Relationship With Cavan: Charley finnaly found the loving family she was looking for with Cavan. Their relationship was slow to start, as Charley was reluctent to have her heart broken again, but Cavan proved himself multipule times, and they fell in love. Cavan treats her pups like his own, and they love him (aside from Raven, who just plain hates males at this point).
Relationship With Her Pups:
With Raven: Her most complicated one by far. Raven had always been moody and withdrawn because of her blindness, and when she found out about her father, it only got worse. While Charley desperately tries to assure her she doesn't regret having Raven, Raven does not appear convinced, and the two always seem to be arguing. No matter how the argument starts, it always leads to a fight about Derrek. Raven refuses to call him "dad", "father" or anything that implies he's related to her. She rarely even calls him by name. She just refers to him as just "him" or "that guy". How they end up fighting about Derrek when they both hate him baffles Charley, but somehow, they do. Raven usually storms out of the house and doesn't return until night after these arguments. When Raven discovered her mother was pregnant with Derrek's pups again, to say she was furious would be an understatement. While Charley desperately tries to get Raven to interact with her younger siblings, Raven flat out refuses to even be in the same room with them. After Charley took in Faline, Raven hardly spent time in the house anymore.
With Chava, Jobi Dove, and Cardinal: She loves them dearly, and they think the world of her. While Charley didn't have the heart to tell them about their father, Raven bitterly spat it out when they went to her for answers (much to her annoyance), so Charley explained that she and their father had problems and didn't get along. They seemed to accept this, though they are curious as why there are a lot of dogs around town that look like them. Charley just avoids looking directly at them when they ask and dismisses it as a coincidence. The three constantly ask why their big sister hates them, and Charley can only comfort them by saying Raven doesn't hate them, she's just having some problems of her own that she needs to sort out.
With Faline: Charley loves her as much as she loves her own pups, and Faline thrives under the affection Charley gives her, having never received any attention like it before. While Faline still tries to gain her birth-mothers approval, she has no problem calling Charley her mother as well and loves her dearly and is grateful Charley took her in, because even though she doesn't understand how, she knows her father hurt her and that it must be hard to have a reminder of what he did always around. Faline constantly apologizes whenever Derrek is brought up, but Charley is quick to assure her that she had nothing to do with her fathers actions and it wasn't her fault.
Charley came across the pup not long after Chava, Jobi, and Cardinal turned six weeks old. The pup, being close in age, but a little younger, was wandering the streets and looked terrified. Charley recognized the pup immediately, or she knew her mother at least. The pup was a spitting image of a local female. When Charley asked if the pup was alone, the pup nodded, but pointed at a blonde pup away off, saying she had come out here with her brother, but he said he had to go somewhere. Charley froze. The blonde pup had to be Derrek's, no doubt about it, which meant that Faline was Derrek's as well. Fighting back the anger and pain she felt, Charley asked Faline what she was doing. Faline burst into tears and said she didn't know, their mother had just told them to leave. Pity for the pup smothered Charley's anger, and she took Faline home. Chava, Jobi, and Cardinal took her under their wing immediately, while Raven and Charley got into another fight when Raven learned the pup was her half-sister.
